Dwayne Jarrett = Cut?

Dwayne Jarrett-WR- Panthers Jul. 29 - 10:40 am et

Dwayne Jarrett got off to a rough start in Thursday's first training camp practice, culminating in what is believed to be a hamstring injury.

Just prior to leaving the field with an obvious limp, Jarrett got caught running the wrong route. "Great first day Jarrett, really nice," said beat writer Darin Gantt, with obvious sarcasm. It's safe to put him back on your "do not draft" list even in the deepest of Dynasty leagues.

if he was the only one with a rough first day then i might agree. seems most everyone is struggling to one extent or another while they are all a bit rusty. it should get better. if it doesn't then i can see him getting cut. too early in camp right now, though.

Yep. That is it.

I do find it a bit odd that the player that Gnatt singles out happens to be higher on the depth chart that Gnatt's man crush. Now that we know that Gnatt services Armanti at every chance, we have to apply strict scrutiny to anything he writes about the WR corps. Next thing you know, Kenny Moore doesn't have the elusiveness that he had at WF, Lafell doesn't have good enough hands, Charly Martin isn't fast enough to get it done, etc.

Jarrett's stock doesn't rise or fall b/c of 1 wrong route day 1. Same reason Clausen's doesn't fall b/c he was dropping snaps. Jarrett's stock will move when camp is done.

clausen is a rookie. mistakes are expected.

all the rookies should look sloopy.

a 4th year vet should not be running the wrong route. he should be setting the tone and be an example.

You=overreacting

:iamwithstupid: Making a thread suggesting DJ has already been cut because he ran one bad route within the first few hours of training camp is asinine. Too many chicken littles on this board for the first day. Sure DJ may be cut but it wont be because of one improper route, even the great Steve Smith and almighty Kenneth Moore have run bad routes in TC before.....

    • they have the best defense they've had in a long time...probably the best in the reid/mahommes era.  but i think they are probably the most beatable they've been in a while as well. record doesn't exactly bear that out, but they just don't look as strong on offense as they usually do. lots of reasons for that, like trying to build chemistry with newer receivers, but right now they just aren't as frightening as they typically are. i mean they'll probably win tomorrow, but i don't see them as the strongest team in the AFC right now.
    • He will likely remain unsigned the remainder of this season(barring someone being in a pure QB panic AND making poor decisions) largely due to the cost. I do think he will get multiple offers to be a backup QB and perhaps a couple to potentially start this offseason.  I will continue to beat the same horse over and over.....he should go to a successful team with an established starter. If I were him, go to somewhere like SF, LAR, etc. Somewhere with a successful QB coach and brilliant offensive mind and ALSO a set situation at QB. Ride the pine and adjust for a year or two. Chill and be around better culture. I would suggest the same for Bryce but he will be limited to wherever we can trade him.
    • I dont think the clock has started yet on canales.  Once he gets his guy then the pressure starts.  WFNZ/mike kaye said  yesterday that he thinks there are 4 options here regardless of bryces status, Geno, Fields, Wilson maybe Jones.
