Buying an SLR right before a trip to Europe isnt the best time to learn.

That being said, if you do buy an SLR, stick with Cannon or Nikon. Just remember, you'll have to carry it and the lenses with you. You cant put it in your pocket either. Ive been to Europe 3 times, and only took a point and shoot. If you just want to document your trip, and arent serious about taking artistic photos, take the point and shoot.

Going to Europe for 3 months. Need a new camera. Suggestions?

What's the biggest difference between compact digital and DSLR cameras? Does the photo quality difference justify the price difference? What's the best in either case? What to stay away from?

Thanks, BROS!

Stay away from the French guy that offers to take your picture while you stand in the fountain because he will just run away with your camera.

Sincerely,

Clark Griswold
