I still think we overpaid but he's not getting paid 8 million per year.  It's $5.25 million. Again, a little rich in my opinion but not quite as egregious.

Since you quote spotrac, here are the spotrac details: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/player/_/id/72463/tommy-tremble

Also interestingly enough, spotrac suggests the contract is fair value. They have a suggested market value contract as 2 years, $11.5 million, suggesting we actually got a slight discount in their estimation.

That’s better, I replied to a much earlier post. It’s still low end TE1 money but salaries go up every year. I’ll call it a slight overpay but I’m amazed at how many people thought 2-$16M was a good deal for our backup TE. I’m also amazed at how good Tremble is based on these posts versus what I watched.

IMO, this is a meh move that doesn’t improve us at all. He’s just more of the same. We need to at some point start replacing current roster spots with better players. It’s another reminder that all we can do with day 2 and day 3 picks is get backups or forced starters (nobody better) at best.

More details out. Tremble is only counting $3.6 mil towards the cap in 2025…which was right in line with OverTheCaps projected pay to sign. Don’t overreact until you get all the details. Or do you..or whatever

So…

TE Room 2025 Cap: 4.8 million

C Room 2025 Cap: 5 mil

The Initial 2/16 deal was full comp with incentives.

That's a pretty tough ask.

Tremble is solid and young player. If they want to pay him marginally more I have no problem with it. It’s a nothing burger

This is not a bad signing.

Gonna have to agree to disagree. Tremble is the type of contributor you want on a rookie contract or off the waiver near veteran minimum. As far as age goes, it's really not a relevant factor on a two year contract.

It’s really not. People just glance at stats and don’t realize how solid Tremble was as a blocker and we are wanting to run the ball. It’s on this team to chance fans perspectives though I suppose.

Appears so ha. No problem— I still like him and feel he’s made good contributions for terrible offense. I think you’d be surprised at the contract he could get on the market if we didn’t resign.

I mean, Allie-Cox, Gerald Everett and Juwan Johnson are probably going to get $5 mil plus for 1 year deals as descending mediocre TEs.
