I would expect them to kind of follow last years model. Sign 1 or 2 really good FA quickly, then wait a week or so and then get a few on the secondary market, signing to fill as many holes as possible before the draft with more affordable guys, small 1 to 2 year contracts. I would guess a DE and maybe a S or CB to take the pressure off the draft. I see a cheaper WR in FA and not in the draft, or at least a high round pick.

This would give the max flexibility to take that TE, or move down and pick up a extra pick or take who ever falls to them (BPA).

There have been a couple of articles saying we will be aggressive, so I would expect splashes early. I think it's just a matter of how much we are willing to overpay for our prime targets. Sadly, I don't think you will see any "splash" signing without a price tag that is going to upset most of the fanbase.

It's just purely shitbox franchise economics. We aren't the only awful franchise that free agents take advantage of for a massive payday.

I expect them to go hard after Milton Williams and a safety (probably Holland). Those will be their two big splashes

Osa just got paid 4/80. Milton will cost more and Holland looking for 15-20 per

Holland is a scheme dependant safety. So if this goes south with Evero then what? We’re tied to a grossly overpaid safety in Holland for a couple seasons. I prefer Moehrig or Reid

Rather give up the draft picks and pay really good players in Hendrickson and/or Metcalf. I’ve seen this organization piss away countless 2nd and 3rd rounders over the years.

I'd rather they be aggressive by going after the cream of the second tier crop. Even though, as you stated, the team will have to overpay, those guys will still be cheaper than the top tier. Let other teams go after the top free agents.

If we didn't have questionable people at the helm, this is a great draft to acquire MORE 2nd and 3rd round picks. But....Panthers.

And I am reticent to get tied to a lot of expensive and potentially scheme dependent players for a DC that is likely to be gone VERY soon and a HC likely to be gone in the next couple of seasons.

Good point. That's another reason to go after the second tier guys.

I feel Milton is a huge FA red flag.

Terrible run defender. Had a limited snap count with an awesome front 7.

And he’s about to be paid top dollar starter money to a team that’s not the Eagles.

Agreed

I’m also really hoping we’re not the team that overpays Josh Sweat

I’d much rather trade for Hendrickson. They’re going to hand out a massive deal to a defensive lineman it might as well be a top tier player like Trey

very fair argument here, he has a lot of the makings of a FA bust
