Beason said himself he is not as fast as TD.And he does not have his coverage skills

Guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Beason going to originally play Will before Dan Morgan got injured for the last time in 2007? Isn't that what he played in college or am I way off? Maybe he had played strongside?

I'm pretty sure he played the Will a bit here.

Yeah he played Wil in college, but Wil in our cover 2 Defense is way different than what he did in college. He has a whole lot more responsibility as a Wil in our defense.

Actually I think Beason must have played strongside before because he was going to start with Morgan and TD back in '07, so it would have been Morgan at MLB, Beason at SLB, TD at WLB.

Check my edited response above. He did play weakside with Morgan in the middle for about five games before Morgan was injured.

Wow, and can you imagine how incredible it would have been if Morgan had stayed healthy? Talk about 3 incredible starting linebackers. That would even rival the legendary '96 Panthers linebackers.

Oh okay. I thought Beason played all 16 games in the middle because I thought Morgan was injured in preseason, but my memory is admittedly terrible.

I forgot it as well. Man, a trio of Davis, Morgan and Beason would've been nice. Oh well, hopefully we've got a mini-Morgan in Connor.

I'm not doubting Beason at all, I think he will do fine. This team will definitely miss TD though, that's for sure. How many teams, actually have a LB that is physically capable of staying with the fast TE's/HB's of the NFL. Not too damn many that I can think of.
