Dynasty Fantasy Football League

I am looking for some die hard fantasy football players who would like to take their fantasy football management skills to a higher level. For those who are unfamiliar with dynasty fantasy football as compared to regular or keeper league fantasy football, the easiest way to explain it is by saying that being a manager of a dynasty team is much closer to that of a real life NFL General Manager.

The basics of the league are this:

-League starts with a draft, just like any other league.

-Each team has the same salary cap. The salary cap is based off a formula already devised accounting for number of players at each position and projected fantasy points by the average players at each position.

-Each team owner then decides what kind of contract to give each player drafted (options are 1,2,or 3 years with salary being based on projected fantasy points...you can even decide to not sign the player and return them to free agency).

-Offers can then be made to free agents with the highest bidder getting the player (free agent offers can be made throughout the season as long as you have roster and salary cap space!).

-Waiving players after they have been signed results in salary cap penalties, just like in real life.

-At the conclusion of each season, any player who has an expiring contract will return to free agency and will be available in the next season's draft.

-The next season we do it all again!

Along with being able to manage your fantasy team more like a real life team, this type of league creates more action between team owners. In a normal year-to-year league, its hard to find trades that are beneficial to both teams because everyone starts over with all new players each year. In a dynasty league, you'll have one team trying to put themselves in place to win it this year while another team is rebuilding...therefor more wheeling and dealing throughout the season and off-season. You want that stud running back and am willing to trade your top two draft picks next season? Make the offer! In a dynasty league, so much more is possible.

This is also different from a keeper league because bad decisions can't be covered by just agreeing to not keep that player at the end of the season. It all comes down to contracts and salary cap space...I can feel the headache now! This is the type of league I'm wanting to start, but I only have a couple people on board so far.

It will be a paying league so the winner can make some money each year, but probably no more than $30/team or so to start. If you're interested, reply so I can get in touch and see if we can get this thing rolling.

If you have any other questions let me know. I can share the league by-laws already developed and additional info on how the league will be managed.
