Training my friend. Now I might be the exception to the rule on this but I regularly shoot my fire arms and practice. Like anything if you dont practice you will not be good. Yes then you and the other guy on the same level. Still my fav home protection gun is a shotgun. If the criminal has a handgun its no contest the shotgun will win every time. Its not about trumping him its about assessing the situation then dealing with it. Maybe you dont kill him but how many people do you know that will stay and have a fire fight with you? Or even if they do the cops are on the way to back you up not him. So guns can buy you time or save your life when used properly.
