Terrell Owens-WR- Bills Jul. 26 - 12:30 pm et

Profootballtalk.com reports that the Bengals and Rams are not the only teams in pursuit of free agent Terrell Owens.

The other unnamed teams are reportedly just not showing "the same level of urgency." Meanwhile, Bengals owner Mike Brown spoke at length Monday of signing T.O. "I'd like to have him on our side of the ball compared to the other side," said Brown. "He can change field position. He makes big plays."

I'm sure there are plenty of teams that have told Rosenhaus that they are willing to sign T.O. to a minimum contract. Wouldn't be surprised if we're one of those teams. But a bidding war...yea right. And the fact that the Rams are even considering it just makes me want to laugh and cry for that organization. The Bengals would be perfect for T.O. He and 85 can hold each other cox in the huddle.

rams are officially out

Terrell Owens-WR- Bills Jul. 26 - 3:11 pm et

Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the Rams have decided to pass on the idea of signing free agent Terrell Owens.

FOX Sports' Jay Glazer seconds the report. Rams brass convened Monday to discuss Owens' fit in St. Louis, and decided against adding the perceived locker-room cancer to one of the league's youngest offenses. The Rams will move forward with Donnie Avery and Laurent Robinson as their starting wideouts. The Bengals are now the clear-cut favorites to sign Owens.

I wouldn't mind a one year deal, just so our rookies have a chance to develop without too much pressure. Having 2 ball hungry WRs like Smith and TO would be good and bad, but it'd be worth it as long as TO can catch the ball when it is thrown to him.

And if it worked out well and we wanted to keep him, then its a win-win. That would give us true DEPTH at WR and Lafell or Edwards can become the Ricky Proehl type from 03, with viable #4 and #5 WRs also.
