1. Obviously our biggest priorities are peppers and gross, We may have to sign one and franchise the other, but hopefully we can sign them both.

2. What would really help our cap space though, is an extension on some of our more experienced players, especially Lucas and Delhome. They have both regressed, but honestly we couldn't afford or find anybody better so i think we should keep them at a better price.

Jake will most likley end his career here, he might as well do it for a reasonable price like minter and rucker did. They both did what was best for the team rather than lining their pockets.

Lucas needs to be restructured as he just has a high cap hit, but alot the secondary problems are not soley on him.

3. Try to make defensive line a team strength once again. We are in a great need talent on the D-line. I think our Defensive Ends have played well enough that we may not need any fresh faces unless an end fell in the draft. But we need talent and depth at the defensive tackle position badly.

4. I don't see any coaching changes coming, not even crossman. I don't think fox will make the changes so i geuss there is no point in debating it.

5. We have alot of depth at some positions and skilled back-ups. We may need to let a few walk and some stay as many teams will be looking for quality players.

New D coordinator

Resign Peppers

Get some more talent at the DT position, draft and FA

Resign Gross

Restructure Jake

Get Jeff Davidson to design more 3 WR sets

Give Jarrett a real shot next TC

Draft a speedy KR/WR we need more explosiveness a guy that can give us a spark I like Mark Jones alot but if we had a guy with some real speed he would have taken 2 KR to the house last night.

1. hate to be redundant but fire Mike T, the defense looks stale

2. Relieve cap space via trade or release of players (I believe we are around $10 under at the moment)

3. Re-sign Gross

4. Re-sign peppers (yes in that order, gross is a leader of the best offensive line weve ever had and he will be cheaper to keep than pep)

5. DT depth

6. figure out how we can turn the ball over 6 times, and fix it

Here is my unrealistic and completely opinionated offseason.

1. Re-sign Gross: Keep this Offensive line intact and have a pretty solid running game for years to come. Sacks weren't a huge issue from this o-line either.

2. Let Peppers Walk: I don't expect this to be very popular with many of you but honestly I don't care. The money he is going to demand can be spread out to acquire two or three very good players.

3. Restructure Jake: I'm on the fence about cutting him. If there was a better option out there, I would be all for it but right now I don't see it. I think there is one guy out there who if brought in could be an upgrade and that is Jeff Garcia. Yeah I know, WTF. But Garcia is a dang good QB who can make plays with his feet. Could you imagine how dangerous Smitty would be with Garcia scrambling around in the pocket and allowing smitty to get creative down the field. I don't see the Garcia thing as likely, and he is more a west-coast type QB. But last time I checked, a west coast, game manager would be a perfect fit for the running game we have in place.

4. Fire Trgovac: Sorry Mike but you have to take the fall. I don't entirely believe it is you, and I'm nearly 100 percent sure fox has his conservative hands in both the offense and the defense, but you sir have to be the scape goat this year. I'm sure you will get a chance else where and produce a slightly above average defense else where. Best of luck. I'm not sure who to replace him with, but I would prefer it be externally.

5. Sign Haynesworth: Yeah, I can see the WTF cloud going on above your head but its entirely possible with the money we would save letting pep walk. The only concern I have is charachter, but from everything I have seen, he is a different guy since the head stomping incident. IMO: Charles Johnson and Brayton improved leaps and bounds as the season went on. They weren't all pro's or anything but I thought the progress each made was promising. I would like to see a D-Line of Brayton-Haynesworth-Kemo-Johnson with Lewis and H. Taylor playing roles on passing downs.

6. Release Ken Lucas: This one stings because I really, really like the guy. But I believe his cap number will be pretty high and his play this year was very poor. Some of that can be contributed to the rookie safety and Godfrey being out of place, but lucas has digressed.

7. With my 2nd round Draft Pick i'm taking the best Corner available: Whoever that may be, and then were having an open competition between he and marshall for the 2nd CB spot on this team in TC. Gamble has been improving and can play decent man if need be, and Marshall and a learning Godfrey wouldn't be too much worse than what we had out there this year.

8. Find the future: Whether it be Moore, McCown or a Rookie, get them on the roster and start bringing them along. The Longer this is postponed the longer it will put this franchise back when Fox's time is done here.

9. Extend Mark Jones: I'm a Jones fan. I think he is an above average returner who puts the offense in good shape more times than not.

10. Finally. Stay committed to the philosophy of hard nosed defense and a smash mouth running game. This is truly the best philosophy for the team and the current core players we have intact right now.

New Defensive Coordinator

Resign Gross

Resign Peppers

Restructure Jake

Release Lucas

Address CB and DT in the draft

Agreed. I'd like us to start developing a QB for the future, though. I mean like seriously, and not "keep them around just cause, and cycle through until the next one"

    • The reality though is that there just isn't a traditional #1 pick type of player in this draft to begin with. He might have been below Marvin last year, but I don't think he'd have been below Nabers. And if you think he disappears in some college games, then you're only looking at the box scores, I guarantee you not a single NFL GM will say he disappears in games when watching the tape. Arizona's offense is a MESS this year, the new coaching staff is beyond bad and the fanbase is screaming for them all to be fired, our OL is awful, our QB is playing like utter garbage, and we don't have another weapon to attract any defensive attention.  Teams are double and triple teaming him on almost every snap, and when combined with the OL and QB issues, it's just impossible to get him the ball sometimes.  And even when our QB forces the pass to him, half the time it's not even catchable given how poor he's been playing. And even despite all that, he's still 3rd in the nation in yards. I've also seen more WR rankings having Burden over Hunter than I have seen Hunter over T-Mac.  If we had a true outside #1 WR, then taking someone like Hunter (or Burden) instead of T-Mac would make more sense as if Hunter were to play WR in the NFL, he'd more likely be used a slot guy like Godwin or Kupp.   There's a reason most mocks/analysts who don't list Hunter as a CB/WR (or just Athlete) list him as a CB.  Because it's his better position and the side of the ball he's more likely to play in the NFL, partially due to his wire thin frame, I don't see him holding up long term as a WR.
    • This was a good breakdown from Daniels.  Last year has had a lasting impact on Young. He still isn't getting the time needed from the OL - the OL we have is made to establish the run and for the run to be in play.  We get behind and have to throw all game we are doomed with this O-line. His receivers have to catch the ball when he makes a good throw to them, he can't have them dropping his good passes. Why are we running 4 slants all toward the same direction?  Why a triple option on 4th and 1? That's on the coaches. Bryce gets hurried and starts slinging the ball where it shouldn't be thrown, more study and recognition from him are needed.  Bryce doesn't step up in the pocket and throws too soon and unbalanced.  He over and under throws the ball because of it.  That's on him.  If the pocket isn't there and he can't get his base set he needs to check down or "live to fight another day." He has been thrown to the wolves and has lost his confidence.  This team doesn't have much, if any, talent and it's a cluster.  I think he can still be an NFL QB.  Maybe not a QB1 in the short term, but if he has a chance with better coaching and personnel he may be better than we are giving him credit for. I think we ruined him last year and have not fixed anything to help him this year.  If we can't run or get way behind all NFL defenses are coming after him.  Dalton has more respect and defenses didn't always sell out to get to him because he'd hit a quick slant, screen, or check down because he has the experience to know what's coming and what to do. Just my 2 cents.
    • All depends on who the backup is. Josh Allen probably would have been benched too if there were better backups than Matt Barkley and Nate peterman.
