Fox is not a team player-Fox and/or Delhomme need to go.

Alirght, we are all upset and everyone is taking sides on what should we do as an organization. I am cooled off now and I am pretty calm and confident when I say, both Jake and Fox need to go, and if not both then one of them HAS to go.

But we cannot have BOTH of these guys on our team next year.

I have been a Jake fan for years. We ALL know by now the type of QB Jake is. Over the past 6 years it's been well established, year after year, that Jake has at least 3 or 4 bad games a year. And when they are bad, they are REALLY bad. He never had one in the playoffs like this, but as is customary in the NFL, things that have never happened before, including us losing at home, or Arizona winning on the East coast this year....will happen.

So if you are a Jake fan, like I have been for years, defending him in every conversation, then you should be able to detect just like I can, days when he is going to have one of his days.

I knew it yesterday in the 2nd quarter. Many of you did too. So my question is, if we the fans, can see and predict a bad day for Jake, why does our coach not see it?

Why do you as a coach, abandon your running game that got you where u are, and put the game in the hands of a quarterback, that has had 3 turnovers, and showed his MIND was CLEARLY out of this game by half time?

Why do you not use your time-outs and let our guys at least try to run the ball, and maybe D-Will will have a break-out run before the half, and instead be ok with going into the half 27-7?

And WHY do you continue to put the game in our QB's hands when he just continued to play FOR Arizona, and not Carolina? John Fox's loyalty to Jake has cost us the playoffs. What is the point of having a running game, and a back-up QB when you don't use them when u need them most?

Oh so u say the back-up is only there to take over when the QB gets injured. Guys JAKE WAS injured yesterday. It wasn't physical, it wasn't a sprained knee, or a pinky, or tendon. It was his BRAIN.

And even though it is not considered an injury, it's worse then some of those physical injuries above. When your mind is not in the game, you are handicapped. It is time to sit down. No hard feelings.

Our TEAM had the ability of easily beating Ariona last night, regardless of how many points they scored, our guys could have scored more. If in the 2nd quarter, we simply started running, and running and running, like we have all year, we would have not lost this game.

Instead we left it to Fox to continue to make bad decisions, show his ridiculous loyalty which is not based on LOGIC, and on top of that prove to us he is incapable of making adjustments at half time.

So yes, Delhomme needs to go. ANY QB behind this year's team could have done what Jake did. Any other QB could have probably gotten us a homefield NFC championship game. Any other coach and any other QB would have gotten this amazing team to the superbowl this year. So while Delhomme needs to go, Fox should be first.

Much more higher profile coaches and players have been fired and benched for much less. We have had to endure this for 5 years, and frankly it is not fair to the fans, or our other players on this team, who are literally wasting away their careers waiting for 2 capable leaders to get out of them what we all know they can do. Win championships.

If Jake comes back next year, fine, we will love him and we wil hate him. But PLEASE give us a coach who will bench his ass when he starts throwing a game. Donovan Mcnabb got benched this year folks. And his name means a lot more around the NFL than Jake. Was he pissed, sure? Is he in the playoffs now playing with a chip on his shoulder proving everyone wrong? Yes he is. So did it work?

I'll leave that up to you guys to decide.

The only thing we need to do is fix what was broken..

We get our defense fixed and we might go 13-3 but either way we WILL bounce back!

Why are we all of a sudden blaming this on our defense when they kept us in the game all night long?

They got us 2 great turn-overs last night. Jake didnt do anything with them.

On top of that Jake threw so many interceptions that he kept our D on the field all night long. And yet they were still able to keep one of the best offenses on the field to 3 points or less on many other attempts.

If some of you are somehow blaming the D on this, you seriously have some Jake and Fox colored glasses on. Please take them off.

I am sorry, I have no bone to pick with our defense. They made SOME mistakes last night. But no more than any other D makes in a game, and overall played a great game.

The reason fox didn't pull Jake out was out of respect for him imo. He just wanted to give Jake a chance rather than embarrass his ass by putting in Moore or McCown. Though i agree something should have been done to help the team win. Jake played terribly and at times selfishly he had guys open underneath and continued to chuck to Moose or Smith double coverage all game. I would have loved to see Moore come out there but realistically we still would have lost and it would have looked like we had given up. I was ready for Moore at the start of the 4th.

I'd love to have Jake back with us next season but I want him to restructure and to really try and improve his game and make it an open TC competition. He really has to learn how to make better decisions and he has to find a way to get more zip on that ball. He's never had the strongest arm but he is consistently throwing high and behind WRs.

its always some new facet of the game that breaks down that really kills us. if we could get consistent in play at all levels that would be a start. take car of fundamentals...

I think everyone can make a case for both of them to go, but my guess is neither one will.

First of all in Fox defense, how many 12-4 coaches get the can. Fox will not be fired over this although I would'nt shed many tears if he did.

Delhomme is more likely to go but the lack of a suitable replacement makes that unlikely. Personally, I can't stand Jake's inconsistant play and have wanted the Panthers to look for a replacement for years now. However, there just isn't anyone out there and Jake will be back in 09.

Without a 1st rounder this year, we have to pick up a CB in round 2. Any QB taken late in the second won't be ready to play for a while and we need the help in our secondary

Exactly, but that is not what this is about. It is not about respect to your QB or loyalty. NOT in the playoffs. This game is ABOUT US! Fox needs to learn that.

And I completely disagree with your on the comment that if McCowen would have come out there we would have still lost the game. Why?

Because with a guy like him, our offense coordinator would have almost guaranteed to have run play after run play last night. At the very least it would have been an adjustment, something we badly needed and didn't get at half time.

That would have helped us a lot more than interception after interception. The point is McCowen could have not done any worse. But with him handing the ball off pretty much all the time, it would have at least given us a chance with the running game, and guess what...NO PICKS!

    • The reality though is that there just isn't a traditional #1 pick type of player in this draft to begin with. He might have been below Marvin last year, but I don't think he'd have been below Nabers. And if you think he disappears in some college games, then you're only looking at the box scores, I guarantee you not a single NFL GM will say he disappears in games when watching the tape. Arizona's offense is a MESS this year, the new coaching staff is beyond bad and the fanbase is screaming for them all to be fired, our OL is awful, our QB is playing like utter garbage, and we don't have another weapon to attract any defensive attention.  Teams are double and triple teaming him on almost every snap, and when combined with the OL and QB issues, it's just impossible to get him the ball sometimes.  And even when our QB forces the pass to him, half the time it's not even catchable given how poor he's been playing. And even despite all that, he's still 3rd in the nation in yards. I've also seen more WR rankings having Burden over Hunter than I have seen Hunter over T-Mac.  If we had a true outside #1 WR, then taking someone like Hunter (or Burden) instead of T-Mac would make more sense as if Hunter were to play WR in the NFL, he'd more likely be used a slot guy like Godwin or Kupp.   There's a reason most mocks/analysts who don't list Hunter as a CB/WR (or just Athlete) list him as a CB.  Because it's his better position and the side of the ball he's more likely to play in the NFL, partially due to his wire thin frame, I don't see him holding up long term as a WR.
    • This was a good breakdown from Daniels.  Last year has had a lasting impact on Young. He still isn't getting the time needed from the OL - the OL we have is made to establish the run and for the run to be in play.  We get behind and have to throw all game we are doomed with this O-line. His receivers have to catch the ball when he makes a good throw to them, he can't have them dropping his good passes. Why are we running 4 slants all toward the same direction?  Why a triple option on 4th and 1? That's on the coaches. Bryce gets hurried and starts slinging the ball where it shouldn't be thrown, more study and recognition from him are needed.  Bryce doesn't step up in the pocket and throws too soon and unbalanced.  He over and under throws the ball because of it.  That's on him.  If the pocket isn't there and he can't get his base set he needs to check down or "live to fight another day." He has been thrown to the wolves and has lost his confidence.  This team doesn't have much, if any, talent and it's a cluster.  I think he can still be an NFL QB.  Maybe not a QB1 in the short term, but if he has a chance with better coaching and personnel he may be better than we are giving him credit for. I think we ruined him last year and have not fixed anything to help him this year.  If we can't run or get way behind all NFL defenses are coming after him.  Dalton has more respect and defenses didn't always sell out to get to him because he'd hit a quick slant, screen, or check down because he has the experience to know what's coming and what to do. Just my 2 cents.
    • All depends on who the backup is. Josh Allen probably would have been benched too if there were better backups than Matt Barkley and Nate peterman.
