To all the DJ Haters

The word "hater" is entirely the wrong word here. I can't stand that word in general.

Nobody on here hates Dwayne Jarrett. A lot of people are just tired of supporting him when his play hasn't warranted support. It's a huge difference.

Everybody on here who feels that way about Dwayne Jarret would love to be wrong. Nobody wants him to fail, they just don't think it's likely he's going to succeed. Given how poorly he's played you can't fault him for feeling that way. It's not "hating".

I can believe it. Anytime DJ was on the field with Matt Moore, Moore always looked his way first because Steve Smith was always double covered. I'm still not convinced that he makes the roster though. If he does, then yeah, he'll be Moore's go to guy. If he doesn't make the roster, I have a feeling Charly Martin will somehow make the roster. But that's why there's training camp and the preseason.

He played with Moore 5 times but the only game where he did anything was that 2009 saints game.

Jarrett is ether lazy or not talented enough. Take you pick they end at the same destination.

^this is an example of a completely unfair assessment of Dwayne Jarret. If there is ever a need for the exact opposite of the truth as it refers to Jarret's career at this point in time the above will suffice.

Yes. His freakish talent, dedication and work-ethic are all well documented and backed up up by facts. Grabbed the #2 spot early when the Panthers basically held the door open for him, improved and progressed year to year. Heralded by teammates as an inspiration due to his hard working nature and instinctive grasp of our complex passing tree (run a go-route).

No wait, Jarrett is the guy that can't seem to bump Kenny Moore out of the way to see playing time, had to have Moose f**king TELL HIM WHERE TO STAND ON THE LINE, but omg one handed catch against the Saints backups.

This is going to be his year. Again. Like the last three years.

I agree with some of the naysayers, and support their positions in my defense of Jarrett. He has done nothing up until now, but everyone who is down on him may have a beef with Jake Delhomme more than DJ. Let's face it, Jake looked for Smith over 50% of the time, and threw to veterans like Moose and Keystone. That is it. Jarrett and Jake never had a rapport in practice, and there was no chemistry in games.

I look at this: Can he go up and get it? Can he catch in traffic? Yes to both. The other problems are fixable. Speed is not great, but when you have great hands and are 6' 4" tall, speed is less important than body positioning.

So DJ had to grow up, learn to block, learn the playbook, and learn to run routes where you negate speed disadvantages and put yourself in position to catch the ball. With the new, young WR coach, there is better chemistry--more teaching going on. All this takes some time. He has been a standout in practice, so I have to believe with the QB that knows him and with his learning, he will deliver.

Out on a limb: DJ will catch 30-40 balls this season for about 400 yards. 5 TDs. Not great, but Lafell will take some reps and with some 4 wr sets, Moore will distribute it around more than Jake did.

I am on the fence, but I know WRs take time in many cases. Dj is 24 and not that bright. When the light comes on, he will be fine. I think everyone wants him to step up and play. I talked to him at OTAs, and he is determined and focused. He is fighting it a bit, but what I saw doesn't fit the "lazy" theory. When he shook my hand he nearly broke itecause the topic fired him up; he seemed pleased that someone was telling him it was his time.

There is an easy test. Ask yourself if you would be comfortable with Jarrett holding your young child for just a few secs.

Holding my child? Yes.

Catching my child? Yes.

Catching my child after running a comeback route while maintaining inside position on the DB? No.

I definitely wouldn't want him catching the child for a TD as spiking a baby into the turf probably isn't good for it.

I hope this is DJs break out year. I have been supporting him from day one, yes day one I tells ya! But if he doesn't have the season I think he will have, then it will not only do it in for him here in Carolina, but it has to send a real message for the offensive players that came out of Pete Carroll's offense. He does not get players ready for the next level and yet isn't that what college is supposed to do? Get a kid ready for his chosen profession? Now I am a little biased towards USC cuz I am a Notre Dame fan, but how many busts have come from his teams and how many have we gotten?

Wow, Alot of Jarrett haters.....I agree with the OP Jarrett will be better with Moore at QB. They both worked on the second team together. Moore wants Jarrett to get some shine evidenced by the TD throw to Jarrett. I think Moore knows what he can do and trusts him so expect to see his numbers go up.

DJ will be better this year. Think about this , Miles Austin down in Dallas took four years to develop. This will be his fifth season. DJ will be Matt Moores got to guy even before Steve Smith. Thats right remember that I said so.

I think the expectation level for a 2nd rounder and a guy who went undrafted are a tad bit different. Also, Miles Austin wasnt getting paid like DJ, so your logical is rather ignorant.

I would be shocked if Jarrett doesn't make the team. He is still cheap and frankly looked pretty decent with Moore under center. He is essentially in a contract year and will give it his all. I really think that this is his year.

I think if it comes down to him and Moore, then he will get in. Martin is likely to make the team as well primarily as a Hankton kind of guy.

I think there will be surprises at camp where some receivers aren't going to make the squad. I think in 2 weeks we will have a much better idea of who that is going to be.
