Dear Jake,

Those teams didn't have the offensive weaponry this one has. Smitty, Moose (if he comes back) Williams, Stewart are all great players that a good coach and mediocre QB should be able to win with.

Ok, so if you trade future draft picks for someone like Matt Cassel (who may or not even be starting material outside of the Patriots offensive system) and sign him to a 60 million dollar deal....where do you find the money to keep your other stars on the team? You've got Peppers and Gross who are free agents this year, Deangelo will be finishing up his rookie contract next year and certainly will want a raise...the defense still needs talent infusion on the line and possibly help at the corner position, so the early round draft picks you are trading are not going to be filling those needs, etc.

I just hate that particular argument. Carr sucking doesn't project anything onto Jake. Like I said, I buy the "who the hell do you replace him with"? line.

He's definitely not irreplaceable, but replacing him with just any random joe isn't always the best idea either.

Please excuse the small portion of our fanbase who are calling for your head. How quickly we forget the 5 times this season you lead our team down the field while trailing in the 4th quarter for a come behind win (could have been 6 if it wasnt for a little gust of wind). Sure, Smitty made some amazing catches, but you put the ball where only he could get it. You did what you had to to win. If we dont win those games, were a 7-9 team, and we dont have this playoff game to begin with.

In fact since you took over as the starter youve lead us to the playoffs 3 out of the 4 years you've managed to stay healthy and play the entire year. So we have faith you can lead us back.

Yea you had a bad game, and now were saying you not good enough to win a super bowl. I guess we forgot your 5-3 all time in the playoffs, winning 4 of those games as underdogs. Thats a better win % in the playoffs than all bet 3 active NFL QBs. No you dont have the strongest arm in the league, but Peyton Manning and his $99 million arm has gone one and done 6 times in his carrer and is below .500 when it counts.

And sorry we forget the 2007 season with our 4-headed monster at QB, where we all realized how valuable you are to this team. We promise to watch some highlights of David Carr throwing footballs to people wearing various colored jerseys, so we remember how we look when youre not around.

I think I heard you were too old to play football. That other QB wearing the red jersey last night, hes got 3.5 years on you, and he looked pretty effective, so id say you got another couple years left in you.

So just pay no attention to the people mouthing off about you needing to be out of Carolina. Were all a little depressed and sick to our stomachs, its been a rough last 18 hours, and you cant expect anyone to be very positive right now. We'll see you next year Jake.

Sincerely,

Carolina Panther Fans

I am with you. Make the QB spot competitive... let the best man win.

I hope you are right about our fanbase.

We are so quick to forget...

It is so easy to be the world's biggest fan when your team is doing well...

i know a lot of you hate delhomme, and since most of you got it figured out........let me know who is gonna replace him! its a fact he played like total sh*t last nite.....but his team mates didnt help either, the game plan was retarded! everyone sucked in that game with the exception of john kasey, mark jones, and jon beason. i can understand why alot of you are mad @ delhomme....but he isnt the only one to blame!

And here come the same old worn out excuses from the Jake Knob Slobbers. How terrible does Jake have to play in order for them to realize that Jake is not that great? I feel that he could go out and throw 10 INTs and have 5 fumbles in 1 game, slap Mr. Richardson, piss on Sam Mills' statue, take a dump on everyone's momma, and the same jock sniffers will still bring up that Super Bowl from 6 years ago as to why Jake is a GOD! Give it up already. Jake is a piece of sh*t QB who costs this team immensely.

So, I guess you want Jake gone...?:D

We are a run first team, Jake isn't the best quarterback in the league, we know it, he knows it, John Fox knows it.

The play calling is to blame for our loss, why after a season when our run game was immense did we decide to become a passing team in the playoffs?

And don't get me started on playing zone defense on Fitzgerald.....

Jake must have a helluva root doctor way deep down in the swamps of Louisiana, because some of you act like damned star-crossed lovers when it comes to Jake. You have blinders on, tunnel vision, and a lack of imagination.

Sounds kind of like John Fox...or Trgovac...or Jake, himself.

Sometimes you have to make a change for the long term even if it upsets your little Cajun alligator, err apple cart. You've been dancing like puppets to the same ol' tired tune year after year. You've been fixed, scammed, bamboozled...

***smack**** "Wake up!"

I'm tired of the "Who are you going to get that's better?" answer. Something has to change on the Panthers. What? IDK but something. Jake? Fox? Turdo? All I do know is that we keep bringing in recievers and then we don't use them or develop them. And then we blame the recievers instead of where the blame lies. On Jake. I'm ready for a change and it seems like most of us are too. But it's not up to me or you. But I will tell you this, this kind of stagnation is no way to build a fan base. We will continue to have bandwagon fans as long as we have a up and down team. And I have noticed that some people have said that the team is backing Fox and Delhomme. They might be now, But let the way the season ended sit in the bellies for a while and if nothing changes. I bet the Locker Room will be as fractured as the huddle is today.

"Who are you going to get that's better?" its a valid question. its not like there is a ton of qb talent out there. some people just cant look @ the big picture, replacing a qb is hard...espeacially a winning qb!
