ok...so the Edmonton Indy opens today and I'm guessing they have a bit of an aerial show for the opening....two f-18s just flew over my house so close that the windows rattled! Last year it was a constant air show out here.

I love military aircraft! Last time I went to an air show, they flew over a B-2 Stealth Bomber! You could not hear the roar of the engines until it was directly over your head. (Then it wasn't so much as a "Roar", but a very loud "Whoosh!")

As a kid growing up in Indiana, our house was on the military flight path for helicopters. (Probably going to and from Ft Ben.) We had every make and model flying over us.

Edmonton, were they Canadian of American F-18's? RCAF has F-18s, love the red maple leaf!

I live a few miles from Oceana Naval Air Station. While I am the son of a retired Navy man, and I love my country, and I know that they need the practice, but there is nothing worse than having to listen to touch-n-go's all afternoon and well into the evening. Your windows rattled? Try some foam weatherstripping, it has toned down what happens to my house almost weekly, sometimes multiple times during said week. I dont think it is so impressive when you live with it. Dont get me wrong, I love the sound of Jet noise, but it is a bit taxing at times...

When I lived in Marietta, Ga. I lived close enough to the Dobbins RAFB could watch the Blue Angels every year from my porch. And see all kinds of planes landing and taking off.

the big base around here is Cold Lake...they have a big international war games there every year. At the northern edge of their base is a lake that is awesome for Walleye and lake trout. One day years ago we were up there fishing at the same time as they were doing some training or an air show or something, but all day long we sat in the boat and watched all kinds of military aircraft buzz the lake. It was amazing.
