Church or the Panthers game whats more important

Meh, church is what you make of it. There are hypocrits everywhere...

Exactly. Let's head to the Tinderbox, shall we?

People are quick to note religious hypocrisy, but slow to see it in their own lives and in the lives of others. And because many of these people don't go to church, they don't see the good that is done as a result.

I'm not bashing anyone here, but you can't act like everyone that goes to church is a hypocrite if you don't go or know the people yourself. And I'm saying this as a person that sees plenty of hypocrisy in and out of church.

What I'm getting sort of sick of seeing is all of the militant atheists. I can honestly say that I see more people touting their lack of belief than I do people forcing their religious beliefs on others. Many (even in this thread) just want to make it known that they're atheists.

I have no problem with atheism, just as I have no problem with most belief systems, especially when founded upon reason and logic. But why the need to go out of the way to tell people how much of an atheist you are?

Football comes on at 10:00 in Cali too, so I gotta get into an argument several times a season while the old lady goes to church and I stay home. She asks why I can't DVR the game, and I say why do I have to see the live show when I've read the book before? Needless to say I wake up on the couch on most Monday mornings during football season.

I must say, this thread makes me proud of our fanbase. Or at least the huddle. I don't know how representative we are of Panthers fans in general.

Plus, I hear the guy's a cowboys fan:

You heard wrong, that's Gallagher the cowboy fans have been fallin' for all these years.

Any veteran football fans from the west coast should recognize this:

matchbook.jpg

Founded in Oregon in 1980, there was also another "congregation" in Santa Monica in the 1970's. But, let's weigh our options...

Sit in a beautiful football stadium in Charlotte or...

Sit in a church

Listen to a ref explaining the outcome of a replay challenge or

Listen to a person of the cloth judge others, judge you and tell you how you should live

Threaten your afterlife (or whatever your denomination may call it) based upon your beahvior

Threaten the life of an opposing team's fans in your home stadium

Drop your hard-earned coin into a "collection plate" that ends up where? or

Drop your hard earned coin on tickets, gas, food, beer and a foam finger- at least you have a choice on how to spend it in a stadium...

Between Church and the Panthers I think you should always choose what is most important to you.

A. If you have Faith....and the excitement of Sundays gets you to rejoice for the successes and you get frustrated at the failures..then the Panthers are for you.

B. If you Have Faith in an invisible bearded guy that looks like a Widespread Panic roadie... who shoots lasers from his eyes...directed at you in the shower as you think of Hayden Panettiere....then go to church.

C. If you realize that between the two choices that only Football actually exists then you would never have created this post.
