Here are some of my favorite lyrics of the past decade or so...

">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350">

I am a lighthouse, worn by the weather and the waves.

I keep my lamp lit, to warn the sailors on their way.

I'll tell a story, paint you a picture from my past.

I was so happy, but joy in this life seldom lasts.

I had a keeper, he helped me warn the ships at sea.

We had grown closer, 'till his joy meant everything to me.

And he was to marry, a girl who shone with beauty and light.

And they loved each other, and with me watched the sunsets into night.

[Chorus:]

And the waves crashing around me, the sand slips out to sea.

And the winds that blow remind me, of what has been, and what can never be.

She'd had to leave us, my keeper he prayed for a safe return.

But when the night came, the weather to a raging storm had turned.

He watched her ship fight, but in vain against the wild and terrible wave.

In me so helpless, as dashed against the rock she met her end.

[Chorus]

Then on the next day, my keeper found her washed up on the SHORE.

He kissed her cold face, that they'd be together soon he'd swore.

I saw him crying, watched as he buried her in the sand.

And then he climbed my tower, and off of the edge of me he ran.

[Chorus]

I am a lighthouse, worn by the weather and the waves.

And though I am empty, I still warn the sailors on their way.

Its not often you hear a song written from the point of view of a lighthouse and tells a story on top of it. Creative, original. Its art.

even in my misguided drug induced late teen years did I once want to listen to speed or death metal. That to me is like the comedian who curses every other word. Too lazy to be original yet thinking that you are.

lol look at this lyrical content:

You've got your ball

you've got your chain

tied to me tight tie me up again

who's got their claws

in you my friend

Into your heart I'll beat again

Sweet like candy to my soul

Sweet you rock

and sweet you roll

Lost for you I'm so lost for you

You come crash into me

And I come into you

I come into you

In a boys dream

In a boys dream

Touch your lips just so I know

In your eyes, love, it glows so

I'm bare boned and crazy for you

When you come crash

into me, baby

And I come into you

In a boys dream

In a boys dream

If I've gone overboard

Then I'm begging you

to forgive me

in my haste

When I'm holding you so girl

close to me

Oh and you come crash

into me, baby

And I come into you

Hike up your skirt a little more

and show the world to me

Hike up your skirt a little more

and show your world to me

In a boys dream.. In a boys dream

Oh I watch you there

through the window

And I stare at you

You wear nothing but you

wear it so well

tied up and twisted

the way I'd like to be

For you, for me, come crash

into me

I like that. Reminds me of what I might listen to in the late 80s.
