Today's office debate: Best American band RIGHT NOW

While Metallica is up there, they are too one dimensional for me.

I'm torn between Green Day and Red Hot Chilli Peppers.

Green Day!? GREEN DAY!? They aren't anywhere even on my radar.

Taking in past catalogue and current projects, being put on the spot...

1) Chili Peppers

2) Tool (best live performance band, by far)

3) Black Keys

I have never listened to a single note of Tool. I mean never. Not sure why.

Maybe I have heard some songs and not realized it.

Best is subjective...biggest maybe?

Best in what genre...hard to compare some styles.

But overall...I'd say something like Linkin Park...or Red Hot Chili Peppers...or Pearl Jam, but I love me some Metallica as well.

While a lot of people don't like my music taste if I had to list the best American band it would come down to two things. The talent of said band and the intricacy of their music. That said it would come down to Between the Buried and Me or Tool for myself....
