just make sure you have enough battery boo, and don't interrupt it in any way. i think mine might have messed up because i had it on the charger, and then unplugged it during the install.

after i fixed it, i plugged it up then started over. i just watched it that time without touching it, and it went fine.

another thing i really like is that you can choose what apps you want in your dock. so i overwrote text messaging with handcent, and contacts with skyfire.

I had to factory reset mine and reload it, but now it works fine. I like it a lot more than FroYo so far.

what do you recommend? i've been using MixZing, but it doesn't seem to want to stay on a playlist. It builds its own from the first song you play which is nice, but it seems to do it when i start playing a playlist i've taken the time to make myself.

up until I rooted my phone I was using poweramp, that one probably has the most settings, from what I've seen. It's a paid app though.

I don't use one. voodoo sound control for the Galaxy S is fantastic. You can actually raise the analog level on your headphones past the hardware-set limit of -10 decibels to +5.

Past that point the stock music player's sliders are more than fine. Too bad I can't get my money back for poweramp now though.

Don't know if there's something like that for Droid X though.

Overall I think that battery life is better, but to me Gingerbread is more buggy than Froyo was...

On my far left desktop screen, I keep losing icons for no apparent reason. The apps are still installed, the desktop just loses the apps???

I HATE the new keyboard functionality in GB... it's much harder to type and seems to respond much slower.

What do you other guys think now that you've had it a few weeks? I know boo hates it...

I hated it the day I got it. Still hate it.

My phone sucks now that I have it. Turns itself off all the time randomly.

Plus the new colors are pooty and my service for some reason won't work until I restart my phone. AWESOME.

I've considered rooting my phone, but don't want to put the time into it really.

But I have to download it. Why can't I just go into the settings and choose the upper bar to be white like it was before. That's all I want.

Last time I tried to download a new text app, it only allowed me to text certain people. Like, it never allowed me to text biscuit for some reason. So I just gave up and went back to normal texting.

I'm still running 2.2 on my D2Global, but I'm assuming they have themes for 2.3 now. I have 3 or so keyboards installed. Don't know if they are paid apps, I know one I downloaded via the Amazon app of the day. I was using swype, now I'm back to another keyboard that I've totally forgotten the name of off the top of my head.
