I did it. rooting works without a hitch. Unlocking non-market apps is more tricky. You need busybox installed. I found that out AFTER I did it the hard way.

That's the easy part of the 210385 step process I did, to download/install apps from the internet just takes ASTRO to install.

Well poo. I've been using root explorer to go in, copy the settings file to the sd card, edit it from my computer using sql lite to enable non-market apps, and then copying it back over to the root directory using root explorer again

I don't know if I want it or not. I love my iPhone and it would be hard to get used to not having all those apps. But on the other hand, I hate AT&T and I really don't want to renew or upgrade anymore.

turns out you can get whatever one you want! So I got the X. Its awesome I love it! Thing is like a damn channel changer haha

I was a Blackberry convert too b.c I had a curve and really only liked my Bberry because of BBM but now I have talk on my droid (which is basically gchat) and I needed a new phone anyways b/c my old school curve 3300 was dying on me almost every day

in case you didn't figure out from my last post...i'm rooted.

as said before, my main reason for doing it was to try wifi tethering at home for free. well. with 2 bars of 3g signal, I can surf but it's slow and unreliable. i won't be getting rid of road runner.
