1. I did the original way and was fine, but it seems he's got another method that I haven't tried:

2. Install RomManager (if you enable 3rd party apps on your phone, you should never have to buy another app again if you know where to look). ROmManager installs ClockworkMod which is a good backup/recovery app.

3. Install Rom of your choice

4. Install SetCPU, Titanium Backup (if it's not a part of your custom ROM), and LauncherPro (if you want, I think it's awesome)

5. Profit

You seriously have to just back up your contacts (if you haven't done that in google already, I forgot to add the phone numbers to people so all I had for most was email addresses).

In the boot screen of the boot managers it has options to set it back to factory defaults. If it doesn't take, it just reboots to normal.

And if you do brick it for some retarded reason, just say it was stolen. Der.

I use Cable at the house but I am at work and my office does not pick up our wireless signal so I am using it for my laptop. I am getting about 3mbps right now.

i'm curious about how it compares to cable. have lite at the house right now. i get 2 bars of 3g signal on the phone when there, and wonder if tethering is comparable to it.

sounds like its pretty good, but i'm not sure how much the variables change things.

This would be about 3 times faster than my cable internet at the house... more than sufficient for 99% of web stuff.

Yeah, I got rr lite at home... lucky to get 1Mbps.

I got 10 Mbps up and down here at work, so needless to say I don't do much at home online.

Matter of fact, since I got my X, I have gotten on the computer a total of once at home.

encountered a problem with my X yesterday, but it was fixed easily by restarting.

I was listening to pandora when I got a call. I couldn't hear anything from the person. Same when I called them back. Same when I checked my voicemail. The restart made it like it never happened though.
