Gantt says Peppers is probably on the way out

I have said for 2-3 years that the players do not like the scheme on D. thats why Jenkins was run out of town. he would do his own thing, while the rest of the team was playing the sorry scheme. I believe he was trying to get the Defense to play the way they should instead of how the coaches wanted to to play. Thats why he was a "bad" locker room guy.

we have the talent on D (just need a few twinks). With a new DC, Peppers will sign that contract and you will see a HUGE difference in the Defense.

I have always said, I would rather make a mistake attacking, than you make one while you are sitting there waiting for them to make a mistake.

we need a young and up coming DC, that has the fire for the game. Del Rio had his first DC job with us, and see what he did with alot less talent than what we have now. we attacked the offense, we made them play the way we wanted to. we didnt sit back and see what was gonna happen.

so we just need a young aggressive DC and everything will be fine. But Trgovac is Fox's buddy, so honestly i dont see that happening. so prepare yourself for a very rough year next year.

I cannot believe you people. Getting rid of Peppers will be the worst mistake this team has ever made. If we get a 1st round pick what would we use it on? a replacement for him? You are giving away someone you know is good for someone that could be a bust. If you go after a CB with the pick I dont care how good he is, with that lack-luster D-line they will be exploited. Oh yeah we could use it on a QB. If you think Fox spends a 1st round pick on a QB you are living in a dream world. Even if he did it would probably take a year or two before we saw him play. We are almost there people. We have a great team. It is not time to rebuild. A few key FA's and some solid rookies and we are champions. I do think we need a more cosistant QB, but it probably will not happen. Jake is our guy till death due us part.

If 14.5 sacks this year is not enough to satisfy those that want Peppers gone, nothing will. I honestly dont know what it will take for you guys to realize that he is still one of the great defensive players we've ever had. Taking plays off? Not reaching his potential? Give me a fuging break. If that were true, he wouldnt have been selected to his 3rd All-Pro team this year. Geez, a guy has 1 bad year in 2007 and there are still people wanting to get rid of him and saying his inconsistant. Bullshit! this year he returned to his normal 10+ sack self. Really, I dont know what games some of you have been watching all year. Getting rid of Peppers will be a HUGE mistake.

There comes a time when potential and athletic ability aren't enough. After 7 years of watching Peppers, I'd say we're at that point. If he hasn't realized his potential by now, HE'S NOT GOING TO!

Peppers knows his potential....which is why I think he wants out. The defensive schemes Fox runs in Carolina isn't allowing Peppers to peak. Our defense under Fox has always been conservative and unimaginative.

Sorry, but he's making all pro-teams on name only. His 14.5 sacks came in clumps. He'll step up and play hard one game and get 2 or 3 sacks. Then he disappears again for weeks. However, I only want him gone because he'll want way too much money to stay. A good organization could let a guy like Peppers walk and then use his money to bring in solid players (see the Patriots). I'd love to keep Peppers, just not at his asking price.

There is a huge difference between wanting him gone and not being willing to pay what it would take to keep him. It's a business. It has to add up at the end of the day.

You dont make AP All-Pro teams based on name.

Agreed, I really do think he wants to be in a 3-4, because I think he would excel in the same type of role Porter or Ware has. If it is a matter of him being unhappy with the system, you know my stance. I'd gladly dump Turdo and revamp the whole defensive system to a 3-4... But, I'm not sure that Fox being a 4-3 guy himself would be willing.

I REALLY dont want him to leave personally. But Now I am getting to the point that if he wants to walk then let him walk. He may feel like his duty here is done. I hope he stays but they will continue to be a team whether he is there or not. So I am setting myself up to think he is leaving so if he does...it wont hurt AS much...lol
