Passing up a player, your franchise regretted

Which players do you regret passing up in any draft?

In the 2004 Draft, we had the luxury of passing up Bob Sanders and instead drafting Ricardo Colclough.

Colcough never started a game for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Sanders won the 2007 NFL Defensive Player of the year award. Imagine how lethal a secondary could of been with Polamalu and Sanders as safeties.

It makes me cry to think of it even to this very day.

A quick recap of what could of been the 2004 Draft for the Steelers.

11: QB Ben Roethlisberger 38: Bob Sanders 75: Max Starks 145: Nathaniel Adibi 177: Bo Lacy 194: Matt Kranchick Undrafted: Willie Parker

Sorry If I used the Steelers first as an example, I want to hear your Panthers stories of passing up players your franchise regretted :(

That draft was an absolute abortion of FAIL for our team. Look at more of the talent that went off the board after the 3rd round that we missed on.

65 San Francisco 49ers Frank Gore Running Back Miami

66 St. Louis Rams OJ Atogwe Safety Stanford

74 New York Giants Justin Tuck Defensive End Notre Dame

109 Dallas Cowboys Marion Barber Running Back Minnesota

130 San Diego Chragers Darren Sproles Running Back Kansas State

146 Philadelphia Eagles Trent Cole Defensive End Cincinnati

224 Dallas Cowboys Jay Ratliff Defensive Tackle Auburn

For SD, I'd say the biggest regret would be the 2003 Draft. We originally had the 15th pick and could've taken Polamalu. But we traded down with Philly, and at 30 we took CB Sammy Davis over Asomugha.

In 07, I preferred reaching for Steve Smith in the 1st over Buster Davis.

I also have a feeling that English over Oher in 09 will become a regret.

I didn't realize Darrelle Revis and/or DeMarcus Ware played for the Steelers :)

I'm sorry but DeMarcus Ware imo isn't the best, His sack total dropped loads, yes held a lot but that can be said about Suggs, Woodley and Harrison.

Polamalu is much better than Revis, Polamalu can cover, tackle, fug he does everything, did u see how he jumped over the line in the AFC Championship game to stop flacco on inches? I saw Revis get burned by Ted Gin Jr this past season, maybe Wallace can put Revis in his place as well, for me Asomaghua and Woodson are better corners.

Revis is yes, a Very good cover corner, but never better than Bailey in his prime. Woodson imo is the all around best corner, he can tackle, blitz, hit hard and cover well. Oh yes he's also a very good teammate, he doesn't cry about contracts but instead Donates millions to charities.

I love Woodson.

Watch this. Look at all the plays he made.

Watch this. Owned, all the Jets cry about Rhodes fuging that play up, no that was one of Ted Gin's few good plays in the NFL.
