NHL Radio just mentioned that someone in the know tweeted that “there’s another storm brewing” after the Mikko to Dallas trade is finalized. NHL Radio takes it as Carolina has another deal lined up before the deadline.

Good on the FO for getting it done.  We didn’t have much leverage here.  Cant undo the mistake, but its better picking up some assets than losing him for nothing and having him be a cancer on the team

Colorado fans are furious because now hes in the same division and they’d never have agreed to trade him to Dallas.

i say you get what you deserve.  They didn’t allow him to discuss a new contract so it’s their fault he got moved twice

Necas wasn’t staying, Drury wasn’t staying. Then Mikko’s agent burnt the bridges here in Carolina by trying to get a 13.5-14m AAV contract and when we pitched him around the NHL he realized he wasn’t getting that at all. So they bit the bullet and signed with Dallas for less than Carolina offered him.
