Inception talk - Spoilers inside - Do not read if you have not seen...

Although it was a great 2 hours and change, I felt there were some real drawbacks to the film. Too much exposition while leaving too much unnecessarily unexplained. Also a few of the details were too "neat" for a dream.

The movie did tackle a fairly heady topic in an entertaining and accessible way (two of the more important qualities), but compared to a movie that did so much more cleanly like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, this is not top of the line.

Basically it was an enjoyable movie, probably worth the $20 in tickets I shelled out, but I don't think folks will remember this as a classic in 5 years.

I just hope to God they don't Matrix this thing into a bunch of sequels.

Honestly I don't want to hear anyone's opinion on what happens in the movie or whatever.

I just want it to be in the air. I love that about the film and I feel that if I find out what exactly the movie is about or what happens in the movie or whatever, I will like it less.

I told my friends the same thing. It gets to a point where you can make an argument for damn near any interpretation, but when it comes down to it I think it's best just to appreciate the openendedness of it all.

I said it earlier in this thread, but that's what I liked about LOST. Mystery is what makes both LOST and Inception work, so I think you need a degree of mystery in the ending.

The more I think of it, the more perfect it becomes. It appeases the people that wanted a nice, tidy, happy-ending, yet it leaves it open ended enough that those of us who want to find the deeper meaning than the rest of the "Oh cool, snow-mobile gun fights on mountaintops!" masses have plenty of leeway in which to roam.

Exactly, and that's why I thought the LOST finale was so effective. Of course, there are plenty of people who disagree with me about LOST.
