Inception talk - Spoilers inside - Do not read if you have not seen...

Also I thought it was interesting how much he had aged when Cobb found him, even though he had only been dead in the 3rd level for a few minutes. Must have been decades that far deep.

And about this, do they ever explain limbo as one person's dream, or is it a dream of whatever anyone wanted to create?? Because Cobb built the city with his wife while Saito basically created an empire of his own in the same world.

Really though the brilliant part about the ending is that it's satisfying yet not at all.

To me it's like, awake or asleep, Cobb had found his resolve at the end of the movie. Whether or not it was a dream, he believed it to be real, and that's what's important. He couldn't be happy in Limbo with his wife because he knew it was fake. The same reason why she couldn't be happy in real life, because she was assured it was fake.

Whether or not it was real didn't matter. It was a matter of acceptance of that reality.

TLDR: I don't know why idiots are having flamewars over the ending about how the top was spinning or maybe about to topple over or whatever. It's stupid, and misses the point of the movie.

Just got back from my 2nd viewing.

Officially #1 in my mind.

Here is what I think happens in the film: It may have been mentioned in here, but I ain't looking thru these pages.

When Cobb first tries the sedation that Yusuf created, that is when the dream begins and everything after that isn't real. After that you don't see Cobb spin his totem once and when he tries he fumbles it and doesn't attempt to do it until the end of the film.

Plus Yusuf said the sedation last 4 hours of real time then 40 hours in dream time. It seemed that Cobb's dream only lasted about 3 minutes.

I may be right:I may be wrong, that is why this movie is fuging amazing.

Can't wait to see it in IMAX.

Wasn't there a point where Cobb had to go splash water on his face several times to come back to "reality". I think this is either happened while under at Yusuf's or just after.

For whatever reason the "multi-quote" feature is not working, but I agree with Mesmer and SmittyIsOurSavior regarding the ending. In many ways, it reminded me of the ending of LOST. In both cases, you had a work that defied logic and reason, and yet people expected (at least in the case of LOST) to have everything wrapped up in a neat, little bow.

All that you can hope for out of works like LOST and Inception, however, is that the ending works on an emotional level and yet that there is also some degree of reality to it. In the case of Inception, it could go either way.

Oh, and I saw it on IMAX. This was the first time I've seen a film in IMAX since I was a little kid. I was shocked when the guy told me the tickets were $16.50. The visuals were amazing, but I don't think I'll be paying that amount of money to see any movie in IMAX.

Well, maybe for Piranha 3D. But after that, never again.
