For those of you who want to run out John Fox of Charlotte

Using the same logic as the OP we should've held on to Jake for life because of something he did 7 years ago. Fox has many areas to improve on this year in order to receive an extension. So many that I doubt he will improve on all of them and receive one despite our record. JR has noticed Fox's stubborness and put his foot down this year. More than likely its Super Bowl or bust for Fox.

Why does post count matter? If someone makes a good point whether it's his 1st post or 10,000th why does that matter. People give others rep for posting pictures of girls on this site, what kind of credibility is that?

Fox is still hungry. He has proven to himself he has the ability. There are mostly only worse options.

I am with the FO on this one really, this season means a whole lot.

His near death experience might go a long way, now that he knows how short life can be...this really is setting up for great year.

Winning season or not there is no doubt Fox will be gone when the season is done. JR already knows Fox has taken this team as far as he can and can already see how inconsistent he is. I hope for Fox's sake that he ends up a HC in a weak/pathetic division like the NFC or AFC West once he's gone. Thats the only possible way he can have any kind of success since he is only good coaching against cup cake teams.

This reminds me of Tampa Bay when Dungy was fired. All the same things were said, took them as far as he could, doesn't have what it takes to win a superbowl, tired of being mediocre, etc.

Yep. Fox is only as good as his players. His 'mediocre' seasons had good reasons, the year playing with a mainly second string offense or even last year where he had Jake screwing things up etc. Yes I am disregarding the fact that turned into Fox's fault after so long. Don't forget the mediocre season he has with absolutley no QB unless you include Carr and Testeverte. Maybe this is more of a depth problem?

People are way too hard on Fox, he isn't THAT bad, he has never completely bombed a season. Just see what he does this season, clearly that should matter. What I am wondering is if there some great awesome coach that has said they are coming back to replace him with? So even if he takes the team to mid playoffs this season you guys still say dump him? Just wouldn't seem smart to do that.

Most people were pissed Dungy turned down the panthers job for the Colts. Oh what could have been.... if only we could have had a REAL HC like Tony Dungy instead of having to settle for a nobody like Fox. It kind of reminds me of when the Tarheels had to settle for Matt Dougherty after Roy Williams turned them down the 1st time.
