For those of you who want to run out John Fox of Charlotte

Why does post count matter? If someone makes a good point whether it's his 1st post or 10,000th why does that matter. People give others rep for posting pictures of girls on this site, what kind of credibility is that?

I was thinking the same thing. In my opinion the more posts you have shows what a loser you are.

Fixed it for you, LOL

You said it yourself. 12-4 was TWO years ago but 8-8 was just last year and its still only 1 WINNING season out of 4 years. Dont care about 8-8 seasons and dont know how you could consider that an occomplishment. Tony Dungy had his team in the playoffs 4 out of his last 5 seasons in Tampa. Dont see any similarities between him and Fox at all.

And the only reason we went on a roll the 2nd half of 2004 is because we beat 6 teams with a losing record. Fox has proven that he can feast on those type of teams.

Like you said 12-4 was only two years ago and that 8-8 season last year was a great accomplishment given all the injuries and Jake's inability to return from such serious surgery. The fact that he has never lost more than 9 games in a season is a testament to his consistency although a few more winning seasons would be great. You are right that Fox has done alot to first fix the defense and then shore up the offense over the years. Tony Dungy and Tampa played in the old NFC Central not the NFC South but I agree that comparisons are valid. Although the NFC South has become one of the best divisions if not the best in the NFC. And you are right, going 6-2 in 2004 after having so many veterans gone was surely an accomplishment. It was one of his best coaching efforts.

.

Fixed it again for you. LOL

I like Fox, but like someone said sometimes it is just best to move on. If Fox can manage a playoff season this year with so much uncertainty surrounding this team I think he deserves an extension. If he can't maybe we look around a little bit.

So mediocrity with the occasional playoff appearance is alright with you? I am right with you that Fox has done good things for this team and hes a good coach but like any relationship sometimes its best to just move on. If we dont make the playoffs this year then its time to move on.

Your argument about injuries is not valid due to the fact every team deals with them just as we do.

Honestly if you look at Dungy's career in Tampa and Fox's in Carolina the first several years were very similar.

Dungy-

first year 1996- 7-9

1997- started 5-0- finished 10-6 made playoffs

1998- fell back to 8-8- did have to play first 6 games on the roadwhile stadium was finished.

1999- 11-5 went to Championship game

2000- 10-6 lost in playoffs

2001-9-7- lost in playoffs.

Fox

First year- 2002- 7-9

2003- started off 6-0 finished 10-6 went to Super Bowl

2004- 7-9 (you know the story)

2005- 11-5 went to Championship game

2006- 8-8

2007- 7-9

2008- 12-4 lost in playoffs

2009- 8-8

Dungy made it 6 seasons. During that time Tampa won 5 games more than Fox did in his first 6 years. Tampa played in an easier division especially compared to the NFC South in the last 5 years. Dungy was also lucky not to have severe injuries at key positions like QB. And in the end he had to go elsewhere to get his ring which I think will be the same as it will be with Fox.

I know I havent much posts on here, but I have been the biggest Fox fan of them all. I still wanted him as HC even when people were calling for his head several years ago. The only problem I got is that he is too old school and isnt adapting the team to the new style of play i.e. fantasy football
