Panthers finally lost their cherry

I'd feel better about it if we were consistently good year in and year out... But, we're not, or at least haven't been. So the anxiety grows greater with the thought of what next season brings...

Exactly. Especially because we have an absolutely brutal schedule, few draft picks, and several key players in limbo (Gross, Peppers, perhaps Delhomme?).

We are not consistent for a whole game. And now you want 2 years?

What you saw last night was terribly disappointing, but as a long time observer of the NFL, I have to say....you're lucky it hasn't happened until now. Every team suffers disappointment in the playoffs. Every franchise. The Panthers have been extremely fortunate in that department...until now. But no one is immune to the parody that rules the NFL.

The 49ers are 5-0 in Super Bowls, but ask them about all the heartbreak they used to suffer in the early 70s at the hands of Roger Staubach, or all the NFC Championship defeats at home. The Cowboys have won five SBs as well, but their list of heartbreaking postseason defeats is as long as anyone's. The Steelers? They were great in the 70s, but before that they were the Cardinals. Since then they have lost five or six AFC Championships at home.

There is only one franchise that hasn't suffered this heartbreak in the postseason...the Houston Texans. Would you trade places with them?

I think you are quite a ways away from comparing your team to these teams. Just sayin'.
