Whenever, I turn on my TV, it's always comes on with TWC News Center 14. I can't watch it without thinking of the Don Henley song.

The anchors are always smiling even when they are reporting child abductions, shootings, etc. The women are all good looking, but can you really smile through a plane crash? Katie Couric (sp) is the same way and I can't stand her on CBS. At least with CNN, CNBC, MSNBC & Fox, you get some emotion. They don't smile about a car bombing in the world. It makes me want to go to 14's studio and slap the silly @** smiles off their faces!

You can change the settings on your cable box so it comes on to any channel you want. At least you used to be able to.

Is that a part of the Don Hendley song? Or did you just forget to change your font size? 'Cause that really fuged me up there, I was still trying to read that in a sing-song tune and my mind almost melted. Thanks a lot SportsTalk.

It's easy to criticize the anchors that report on all of this tragic news; it's much harder to criticize yourself for watching it and being the cause of it (the news).

I had a mass communication professor who told a class that people are entertained by other people's tragedies, and he's absolutely right. Why else would the news cover "minor deaths" that don't affect anyone else, like suicides, car crashes, etc.? We are a sick society.
