That Panthers #8 pick just got a little juicer ...

Every time I look at this division I just laugh and cannot understand why we continue to stumble around and end up in last place. Even with our needs there's no reason we can't compete for this division in the sorry state it's in.

They missed out on all the wilson, Winston, fields, etc bridge types. The only name left is arod and ridder if you think he's a QB.

I mean this is G-R-E-A-T news for the Panthers. If any team wants dart or sanders, you better call Dan/Brandt and figure out what they need. Guess what, if a team trades ahead for Sanders or Dart, that just makes a player like Walker fall to the Panthers. I guess the iants could not hide it any longer.

The other thing, LOLOLLOLOLOL @ saints for pushing his 40 million into next season. It's nearly as bad as failcons giving cousins 100 million 2 years to cover up drafting 27 year penix. That's who need to trade for cousins!!! The saints, LOLs!!

Unless penix is legit, failcons have 37.5 million tied to cousins....they could be in a 2 year fall too.

The main issue is TB has drafted well the last 8 years, I feel their team is still older talent and they will age out soon. Maybe by 2026 the Panthers will be ready to own the NFC south. The failcons and iants will be in QB hell while yucs Evans&defense finally slows down.

Honestly Panthers have been in the race late into the season, that's sad for everyone.

I swear if diontae Johnson just bust his arse for big free agent pay day and they didn't lose dbrown week one, Panthers could have nearly won this division. They were 2 games out with like 5 weeks to go, God that's bad... I swear it would have came down to a tie breaker.

Our team seem to be trying to emulate the better sides in the league. Georgia Dline like the Eagles. Henderson is very Jamar Gibbs like. And that's why they took a shot at Metcalf they saw what that alpha did for Allen and Hurts development

And there is nothing in free agency except Rodgers--and I thought that first--steal  him from the Steelers---but they can't afford him.  They are almost FORCED to draft a QB now.  It will likely cost them draft capital to move up or they can sit tight and take a chance Sanders falls.  I wonder if this is tied to the reason Milroe was invited to the Green Room?  They probably have known about Carr's shoulder for a while now.

I SHOULD ANNOUNCE THAT THIS WAS MY 30,000 POST SINCE JOINING THE HUDDLE--AND IT WAS ABOUT THE DAMN SAINTS. STILL, I THINK MY WIFE WILL TAKE ME TO OLIVE GARDEN TONIGHT TO CELEBRATE THIS ACHIEVEMENT.

And the Saints were reluctant to re-sign Carr--but had few other options.  So they re-sign him, give him a back-loaded deal, he might have to have season-ending (2025) shoulder surgery, and there are literally free agents left who are affordable and better than Rattler.  In the weakest QB draft in a long while, they are nearly committed to drafting a QB the year before the QB Fairy delivers 10 or more QBs to the league, all of whom are better than $anders.  Sanders needs a year to sit and learn behind a veteran, but this will force him to play right away.  The Saints have needs on the OL, but Kellen Moore has mentioned offensive skill players.  On April 7, a Saints podcaster shared these 2 quotes from Moore, insisting that he revealed their draft plans.  To me, it sounds as if he wanted Warren before the Carr announcement:

This screams Warren.

The podcaster went on to say that they need a big bodied WR, mentioning McMillen.  Then he said, "The Saints are going to draft Warren, TMac, or Sanders."

You have to consider the fact that the coach is interested in calming players down before the draft.  The Saints just gave Juwan Johnson a 3-year, $30m deal.  He is trying to prepare Johnson for the Warren pick.  This tells me that they were possibly not targeting a QB in round 1---until Carr's announcement.

Just interesting stuff--nothing earth shattering here.  If their list was down to 3 players, Sanders just went to the top of it.

Look at his size and athleticism.  To me, he has TE written all over him.  however, there is nothing to suggest that is what Carolina is thinking.

From SI

Carolina's interest in Smith is a classic example of valuing traits over college production. Smith has some great measurables, coming in at 6-foot-6, 238 pounds and having run a 4.63 forty and posting a 37" vertical and a 122" broad jump at his pro day.  (That is nearly Cam Newton size and athleticism)

He got injured, but at the beginning of the season, I predicted that he would have a breakout year.  Seems as though his processing is suspect.

Maybe an UDFA candidate
