Here is what I should have explained because I assumed everyone already understands this:  Somebody is going to reach for Sanders.  Some team, their fans, and their GM are looking for a QB to get them to the next level.  He shows up with Diamond Necklaces, talking about how he is mentally superior to everyone else, wearing a dollar sign shirt--if that is what your looking for, he is your guy. 

On your next job interview, tie your shoelaces differently, make your hair look crazy, and wear funny looking shorts--and a shirt with a huge $ sign on the back.  Good luck.

Reach according to who? You?  Did the texans reach for Stroud? did the panthers reach for bryce? Did the Broncos reach for Bo nix? You are forgetting everything is opinion and subjective. And you seriously brought up a diamond necklace like most players don't wear Jewlery during games right now. All you did was reinforce the fact that players have to look a certain away to come off as confident with the things they say. Thats all Shedeur is, he wasnt even gonna do the pro day. It was reported that the reason he was out there was because other late round draft prospects were participating, and it wouldn't have been as many eyes as possible out there to see them if Shedeur sat out. So the guy was just actually helping out his teammates.  Yesterday wasn't about interviews, it was about displaying your talent on the field for NFL teams looking to draft you. If you have been actually paying attention to all the chatter, everything about shedeur has been regarding his on-field skills and ability, his personality and what he wears hasn't even been a discussion among analyst and talking heads. They have actually defended him on his confidence and personality. Thats just coming from you. FYI

I think we are almost all universally very happy to see the Bryce 2.0 version we saw for the last part of the season but even as a former and ardent Bryce stan, he had a LOT to prove for me to want to lock him into a future mega-contract.

Yeah, that is a pretty wild statement to make. I mean, I don't think Sanders has a high physical ceiling by any stretch but it's very clearly higher than Bryce's. I also think Sanders(remember big OG Bryce stan) is substantially more prepared and better at reading the field than Bryce was.

Some of your points here have validity to a certain extent in general but drawing a line in the sand over some of these things like diamond necklaces in relation to pro athletes and particularly professional NFL quarterbacks just sounds like something Nolan Nawrocki would say. And that's not anywhere anyone should want to be if they also want to be considered an intellectual. That to me sounds like the complete opposite of intellectualism.

Anyways. If one wants to be skeptical of Sanders they can do so without the above. First point of order would be how he will fare in the NFL if he publicly throws his teammates under the bus after a loss as he did his offensive linemen in college previously. People can say what they want about Cam Newton but he never did that and he had every valid reason to. But there's a line you will struggle heavily to come back from in an NFL locker room if you cross it and that is one. Time will tell how Sanders will navigate these things.

No one knows what Bryce is gonna do the rest of his career. His start was so bad, it's hard to get too confident. I was just referring to him as a college and pro prospect. Bryce damn near threw for 5000 yards and 50 TDs as a 20 years old, first year starter in the SEC. That ain't normal.

I do not want nor have the energy to start a sanders vs BY topic.....

Heres where Im at, what else is Titans Levi's or colts Arich going give in a trade...... Im no sanders fan, but it wouldn't bug me if caralas/Brandt/tepper/who____ wanted to go another route.....yes its been a QB whirlwind since ...to long.... still Im not sold on the skill and talent of one BY.

 

I think this is first year in many in which Carolina with have the same HC, QB, and GM. Its been a mess...

I explained that I was old school and I realize that others have a different opinion.  Being Deion's son is a bit different.   It suggests that his focus is on the money and not football--It is not just the diamonds--it is the dollar sign on the shirt.  Telling a reporter from the Raiders "I ain't going sixth."  Asking another reporter, "Do you know who my dad is?"  When asked what sets him apart from the others, he said that he is mentally more prepared.  Meanwhile, Dad as recently as March Deion, implied he would advise Shedeur to avoid certain franchises--later to retract that position during an interview with Skip Bayless.  You can't take the fact that he is probably a late first, early second round talent and ignore the fact that his comments, jewelry, $ on his shirts and uniform towels might suggest a feeling of entitlement, a person focused on the return more than the opportunity.

As I said very clearly--this is my opinion about one person who was raised as a great player's son and how it might rub some the wrong way.  It comes off as entitled.  Fine if he lives up to it, but to me, it suggests that his mind might not be in the right place.  Perhaps he should be focused on humility, his work ethic, and how he is going to earn it--instead, this comes off as someone who thinks this is his reward.  I am sure that others feel the same way, but if I am the GM, I do not want the circus.
