Also, not sure if anyone has posted this but Metcalf is requesting a trade to a contender.

We aren't looking at that for a few seasons if we are very lucky.

I posted it but apparently we’re all ignoring that to fantasize about the trade to Carolina happening.

Us as a SB contender is very unlikely in the next 5 seasons if we are crushing every offseason between then and now.

That is such a crazy long way from being anything close to a reality.

At that point, Metcalf is likely on the backside of his career.

Love the idea of going after DK, but with a caveat that may or may not be popular around here.

If we trade for DK, we should trade away XL

They're basically the same type of player, except DK is really good and XL is really raw.  While you could say XL can learn from DK, they still play the same type of game and having them both would be duplication rather than complimentary.

    • According to Spotrac we have almost 190 million of cap space in 2026 and 430 million in 2027. Brandt Tilis would almost certainly be able to find a way to fit a Dk extension in there. With how the cap always seems to go up more than expected each year and our spotty drafting success we don't have many players that we need to sign to big extensions.  Morgan is a way better PRO scout than the is a college scout if last year is any indication so let him cook in free agency and improve this team. I think we will be more active than people expect.  As far as trading for Dk I'd be willing to do 3rd at max and hope the Seattle connections between Morgan and Canales would be enough to swing the trade into our favor.
