Jake is still the man....

So.....how come no one is blaming the defense too? Especially our secondary with how they keep letting Fitz get away with it. It always the blame on a QB when the defense didn't help either. :toetap05:

Oh Trgovac is an idiot and I'll never understand his ridiculous zone coverage, but you can only keep a defense on the field in the pouring rain for so long before they're eventually exhausted and have no motivation.

There should absolutely be pressure on Trgovac and the defense, but theres no doubt that this game was lost by Jake. You need sustained drives to give your team confidence and your defense a rest, but Jake couldn't help with that.

I've never liked Delhomme, and if my profile wouldn't have been deleted a year ago, you could read my old posts. I think his mechanics are terrible, his reads are- well not there, and he doesn't know when to throw it away or step up in the pocket.

Remember, just because a team can win with a particular quarterback doesn't mean he's necessarily a good quarterback, and you should never just accept average without looking for something better. Just imagine the Panthers with Drew Brees.

If it were up to me, I'd have Trgo gone alongside Jake.

I disagree with this thread. I support the panthers than i do Jake, i don't think anyone has forgotten the good he has done for this team, but as of right now most of us will be thinking how he basically threw away our chance of advancing to the NFC Championship game.

It's sad to say that of all the QB's in the NFC South Jake is the worst. I feel that its time to search for a QB that will have a Matt Ryan type of impact for us. I am not saying all of this based on yesterday's game, Jake is a streaky QB who gets hot every now and then. For the most part his decision making is terrible and can easily be compared to the QB'S on the Chicago Bears roster.

I'm more mad at the coaching staff abandoning the running game than Jake to be honest. They should have realized after an INT or two that he wasn't on his game, and that adjustments needed to be made. Instead, they kept forcing it when it wasn't there.

Jake has the ability to call audible you know. Despite the fact that you are correct about abandoning the running game, Jake should still be able to due his part in making good reads. The offense was balanced this year and by Jake not being able to due his part made the team one dimensional in the running game.

I have NEVER said anything dispairingly about Jake, but damn...

we had a serious shot at the Superbowl and Jake SINGLE HANDED lost that game for us...

he was terrible... he was awful... it was disgusting to watch a team with so much talent be killed by Jake

I have NEVER said this before... but... sigh.... we need a new QB

Eat a dick catofwar.

Jock sniff him all you want, just think of how great he is when your watching all the football today, knowing we are done.

We were also outcoached out of our minds.

But you can still go eat a dick.

I'll pass on the extremely homosexual dick eating, but will tell you what I will do. I wont forget what Jake has done for our team, good or bad. And if you think the gap tooth Mat Moore is the answer, then bless your little retarded heart. I like Moore, but he wont give us a better chance to win. Until we have that option, I'm going to root for OUR guy.

So in closing Mr AI Ball Sack Sucker, feel free to suck a bag of dicks.

Also, do not respond until you grow a few pubes on your tiny ball sack. Thanks.

There will always be the Jake cock suckers even when he f*cks up terribly. Jake is finished and needs to go. I dont want him around any more.

I'm not a Jake fan but seriously. He had a bad game. Worst time to have one but still. Look at Eli today. He had a horrible game (not as bad as jake) but still a bad game. If he comes back next year playing really good what are you going to say?

Our WHOLE team is one dimensional and that needs to be fixed by out COACHES.

yea have you ever wonder....jake could possibly cause smith to wanna go to a new team....it's a reach but really if i were him i would not wanna play with a qb that can't complete or make good decisions on the field.

how many games does jake have to blow for you dumbasses to realize hey, this SOB is causing us superbowls.i mean really, there is not logically excuse for 5ints.I hear about loyalty, that is a bullshit excuse for jake......idc who you are if you have games like this at least 4 times a year you need to play arena football or go back to nfl Europa.if you can't complete a pass with nine in the box without it being int you don' deserve to be in the nfl.i see why the saints had him as a backup.

Jake will be better next season. People forget this is his first year back since major elbow surgery. He will come back stronger next season, with another year with his arm recovering.

Wow, first off I can't believe there is a "Pro Jake" thread, secondly I can't believe somebody posted this with a straight face. Surgery???? Seriously what doest that have to do with his reads and inablitliy to find another option other than forcing the ball to smith? I give Jake a lot of credit for coming off surgery the way he did this season, but at the same time, he is still the same Jake(or 1 of 2 jakes). His elbow had NOTHING to do with last night, he is an average qb at best, when he is good he is okay but when he's bad he is awful.

    • Exactly the type of thing he would have done here. The excuse people were stannin’ so hard claiming he would have looked just as bad. Just not true.
    • Yes and there aren't 32 starting QBs in the league either. Too many teams and too many games. The NFL has regressed over the years and game quality is lacking. The other leagues are supposed to be farm leagues but it doesn't matter. You just won't have 32 no matter what they do. The move to super athletes playing QB at all levels has lead to this. It used to be those guys played other positions but now they are QBs who can't really QB.  It has a trickle down effect too. OL can't block because they never had to. The fact that in today's game your QB must be able to run at least a little to survive is evidence of this as well. IMO they have ruined the game same as with the NBA. It's been simplified to the point of being boring.  Just look at the top 10 this season. Patrick Mahomes (Chiefs) Joe Burrow (Bengals) Josh Allen (Bills) Lamar Jackson (Ravens) Dak Prescott (Cowboys) Jalen Hurts (Eagles) Brock Purdy (49ers) Jordan Love (Packers) Justin Herbert (Chargers) Matthew Stafford (Rams) Once we get to number 5 the stats look like this: 167 262 1,845 63.7 7.0 10 8 65 18 84.5   47.5   10 TDs and 8 INTs??? At number 5??? There was a time not that long ago that he wouldn't even be a starter.
    • I'm not convinced that the NFL is any better or worse at developing QBs now than they were 20 years ago.  I mean I'm sure there are some developmental issues at play, just not sure it is any different than it has been. The biggest difference IMO is that NFL teams are waaaaaaaay more willing to invest a 1st round pick into a QB now than they were 15-20 years ago.  A guy like Colin Kaepernick would probably be a top 5 pick in 2025, whereas he went in the 2nd in 2011.  Would a guy like Trey Lance go top 3 in 2010?  Hell no.  Look at Russell Wilson - he didn't go until the 3rd round.  The standard for being a 1st round QB has dropped. So it may seem like we're seeing more high-profile busts at the position, but we're also seeing teams reach for QBs way more than they have in the past.  Someone with Anthony Richardson's college resume doesn't go in the top 3 20 years ago.
