Yahoo! Lineback Rankings: Panthers, 23rd

I don't know why we're so quick to move Norwood.

I think he could develop into a good outside LB.

Davis/Beason/Norwood/Connor/Anderson.

Hardly middlers if you ask me.

Another case of the media not doing their research.

Given that Davis is out, Norwood has yet to play a single NFL game, and Connor and Anderson have had rather undistinguished careers thus far, what possible basis do you have for claiming that the writer is off his rocker and that this is even an average group, let alone above "middlers"? As I see it, we have one above-average linebacker.

No one is saying that Anderson and Connors are great, but he ranked a number of teams with one good linebacker and a bunch of average guys above us. Look at our division. Atlanta is ranked 15th and isn't better than we will be. Part of their ranking came based on a draft pick who hasn't played a down. What about NO. Outside of Vilma, who is great there? What about Tampa? Outside of Ruud, there isn't anyone exceptional.

No one is saying we are top 5, we are just saying that we aren't bottom 10 which is where we are placed.

I'm trying not to be a homer here but Beason is way above-average and that alone makes them better than 23rd. He orbits above average.

Also the guy Cole is totally off his rocker. He gave us some credit in 2008 but he's not familiar with the younger guys we have here. Like most sportswriters he only knew the Panthers at the starters. Now that all names are gone he just assumes they suck since he doesn't know their name(again, like most sports writers).
