Here's a list of free agent QBs and top QB draft prospects

I want Sanchez, but once he declares he's going to climb the boards this offseason and be out of reach by the time we draft.

Same thing happened to Flacco last year, and I wanted him here. he was projected as a 2d or 3d rounder, but he was gone by the time we came around to pick again.

eh, definitely not Matt Stafford, it would be reruns of last night about 6 times a year. Don't even fool yourself if you think Fox is going to start another QB next year, especially a rookie one. We have never developed a QB, and with a conservative coach, don't expect it to happen anytime soon.

Matt Cassel was franchised.

AND the Panthers don't have a 1st round pick in the upcoming draft!!!

Not likely to trade up for a QB with a 2nd rounder.

Kurt Warner - he'll be back in Arizona

Kerry Collins - doubt the Titans let him go, but he isn't the answer either

Matt Cassel - too much to give up, especially for a guy that could easily flop in a new system

Jeff Garcia - too old, and worthless unless you want to switch to a west coast offense

Rex Grossman - not in a million years

Kyle Boller - a Tedford product, which equals no NFL success

Charlie Batch - no significant difference between he and McCown, why go outside?

J.P. Losman - not as a starter, and backups aren't the issue

Patrick Ramsey - ditto

As to the rookies, none of those that are worth a look will be available without trading up, and the ones that will be available without trading up aren't good enough to start as rookies.

Bottom line: You're not going to get a starter out of this year's draft.

I'd throw in that I wouldn't trade even so much as a seventh rounder for Derek Anderson. Byron Leftwich isn't good enough. McNabb isn't likely leaving and wouldn't fit outside a west coast system anyway. And Favre? Please

And there you have it. Excellent post Mr. Scot. And hence the reason we need to focus on fixing the defense and defensive coordinator. Dominating run game, ass kicking defense and pass 20-25 times a game.

I agree. None of the good QBs in FA will be available to us, especially when it going to cost us a lot that we could lose few good players. Not to mention we gave Eagles our 1st round pick, so we need to focus on fixing other problem before we look at QB.
