Is there better example in national sports journalism of being such a homer as Gantt is for Edwards? He has nothing but doting love for his beloved Armanti. I don't mind writers following certain players for their quote-worthiness or because they're a big name, but what he's done the past couple months largely disgusts me.

he never hid it at least. He openly admitted to it over and over again. It's not funny anymore though. It got old a month before the draft. It's just kind of annoying now that he actually is a Panther.

First of all, that's not even close to true. Second of all, the fans aren't professional sportswriters. They can be as biased as they want.

I would call it being a homer when he is the only sportwriter saying it.But all of the writers that have seen Armanti say that same thing about him.

Well, sports media is my career. But those I work around for the most part don't even know I'm a Panthers fan. So here, I can enjoy anonymity and not be judged. When I write about teams or players or drivers I like I don't talk to them or write about them from a fan's perspective. But I'm still a sports fan. That doesn't change. But sitting at a game covering it, I don't care who wins and I certainly don't cheer in the press box, that makes me sick.

Yes but the majority of the fans are eating it up because they really beleive Edwards is already Steve Smith. Maybe you could write Darin a letter to let him know that there is a fan out there who doesnt apreciate it. Im so sure he'll stop once he hears about it...
