(By Darin Gantt, [email protected]) Carolina Panthers rookie receiver Armanti Edwards has plenty to learn, and now he has plenty of time to concentrate on football.p/Edwards, the Panthers' third-round pick out of Appalachian State, agreed to a four-year deal Thursday. The deal is worth $2.5 million and includes a signing bonus just over $710,000, according to sources with knowledge of the negotiations. His signing gives the Panthers eight of their 10 draft picks under contract with just under three weeks before the start of training camp. Second-round quarterback Jimmy Clausen and third-round wide receiver Brandon LaFell haven't signed. LaFell's agent said Thursday they've had good preliminary talks and expect more next week. Clausen's likely to take a little longer since only one second-round pick has signed.
