They set your lineup at the main office, the box has nothing to do with it. They probably just gave you the channels so they can call in a week to ask if you liked them, and would you like to (pay to) keep them. If they do, just say "I didn't realize I had them".

Was your box freezing up and saying "Channel Not Available"? If so, it ain't the box.
