NFL top 10 Fairweather Fanbases

Yea ok, when they are winning maybe. Ive seen Steeler fans hog up bars in TN. If they arent looking to good the "fans" will claim the dont get to keep up with them very much. Ive also noticed most "fans" dont even know that the team is in the playoffs until they reach the superbowl.

Go to Pittsburgh then. The people in that city live and die with the Steelers. Like I said, the Steelers do have a lot of bandwagon fans (the people in the bar) but the actual fanbase (the people in Pittsburgh and the surrounding area) are just as fanatical as any other.

I'm thinking a definition of "fairweather" would have helped the writer's case. In my mind, I don't see Lions fans or Browns fans being fairweather.

On the other hand, having missed but 3-4 Panther home games over the years, I can safely say the Panthers belong on that list. And where I live I'll certainly see the fresh, new Steeler jerseys on Monday mornings following a win and the requisite number of Redskin fans will also show their part-time allegiance as well.

ill be honest it seemed there was ATLEAST a 50/50 split of fans at the dolphins/panthers game last year......i mean seriously.....the streets were celebrating after the win for the dolphins like we were in miami....it was shocking.

but then again, before the panthers existed i have found alot of people up here liked the phins cause of the 72' team, marino etc etc.

plus we dont hate each other because we rarely play.

but still.......not good. i didnt feel uncomfortable at all. i was surrounded by dolfans the entire time.

Yeah I was there too. That was a Dolphins home game. Same for earlier in the season against Washington.

Its like that for most of the home games. Its fuging frustrating and sad. Half the retards dressed up in the other teams crap are usually from around here. Ive heard all the transplant nonsense and some of the other lame excuses but whatever the reason its still lame.

For all anyone knew the season was in the tank by then and as a result there were tons of tickets available. Combine that with the sizable portion of locals who pull for the Dolphins and there you go.

That game was one of the strangest atmospheres of any NFL game id ever been to. Just weird.
