I Blame the Defense More Than Jake

How do you leave Fitzgerald open all day? If the defense could have stopped the Cardinals from scoring, Jake wouldn't have had to throw the ball on every down. And once again this defense played lethargic, which is an indictment of the coaching.

I absolutely agree.100% correct!

I think Mike Trgovac need to be gone. The defensive game plan was inexcusable.

Wow....You're reading my mind.

Panthers also need to draft a QB in the upcoming draft.

Maybe..does anybody know if McCown is any good? I've never seen him throw a pass.

wasnt he QB for Chiefs or Raiders before

Cardinals, Raiders, Lions, and Dolphins.

A lot of people remember McCown from the game where he threw for nearly 400 yards against us in 2005 (with 3 INTs) so they believe he's better than he really is. If you are frustrated by Jake making ill advised throws and being a turnover machine, I doubt you're really going to want to see McCown in the lineup (unless the coaching staff has ridded him of those tendencies).

first of all i would've put McCown in after halftime...WITH confidence

2nd of all ...the defense had the same scheme that they had the first game. Don't pretend that Arizona didn't get the same yardage passing the first game..that was a given..we just had 2 make sure that we shut down the "all of a sudden" run game..the key 2 this loss was TURNOVERS and 1 man had way 2 many !

Look at the time of poession, then look at how many three and outs and turnovers there were. This loss, including the points is on the offense.

The linebackers and defensive line came to play, they didn't get any rest and that's why the team lost.

Sure Fitz shouldn't have been single covered, or allowed to run free in zone, but that's the fault of Trgovac and Tim Lewis, not the personnel, there were scheming issues, not execution ones on Defense.

Just in case noone noticed, fitzgerald really didnt do much the second half AFTER Fox and Turg changed up the defense and started putting preasure on Warner. Our D did one hell of a job to hold a team to 33 points after 6 turnovers. So while the players on D are taking the blame, I put it all on the Coaches and Delhomme especially. If this was a regular season game, the D would have given up after about the 3rd or 4th turnover. You cant do that 6 times and expect your D to bail you out and still win. So its all on Delhomme and the coaches. There were some defensive breakdowns but all teams have those.

Definitely more Delhomme. Though the play calls can be questioned. Jake telgraphed his passes way too much and double clutched. We can argue about whether he should stay or go. But they need to change the offensive passing scheme for next year.

Our defense held them to fg's several times in the FIRST half. If anything we stopped running the ball (you know.. the thing that got us here in the first place) and put everything on jake's shoulders. The passing game was OBVIOUSLY not working. and the running game would at least net us some points whether it be fgs or touchdowns. But no, pass after pass after pass, Delhomme kept throwing INTs and making mistakes.. and THEN we went no-huddle. poo, if we had RUN the ball, we would have made it down the field, at that point they were obviously paying too much attention to the pass anyway. Our defense even made a play for the offense, what does Jake do? throw an INT in the redzone. I can't count how many drives ended in their side of the field because of bad play calling. RUN THE BALL, GET A FG, PASS THE BALL, LET JAKE TURN IT OVER. YOU CHOOSE. AND BY THE 3rd INTERCEPTION, I'M PRETTY SURE I'D HAVE THE ANSWER.
