Raymond Felton for David Lee is a realistic possibility

Recommended Posts

Charlotte and Golden State are involved because A) both covet Lee, and B) each has a point guard who’d complement Stoudemire if he winds up being the Knicks’ only top-tier signing. The Bobcats’ Raymond Felton and Warriors’ Monta Ellis have been on the Knicks’ radar for some time.

A league source with knowledge of the market for Lee told CBSSports.com Monday that the Knicks are engaged in discussions with Utah, Toronto, Houston, Golden State and Charlotte about a sign-and-trade arrangement involving Lee. This could be a key piece of the puzzle in the decision process for LeBron or Wade. Some of the Utah scenarios involve Carlos Boozer coming to New York, and some of the Toronto scenarios involve Bosh. Both players are high on the lists of power forwards both LeBron and Wade want to encourage to team up with them

In my Words:

We will know about Lee's future after the dust settles, once LeBron picks his team the piece's will fall. If LeBron does not choose the Knicks, then the Knicks will sign Amare Stoudemire. With the addition of Stoudemire the Knicks would eliminate Boozer/Utah and Bosh/Toronto. That would leave Monta Ellis and Raymond Felton. The Warriors were originally in a three team deal that would send Monta Ellis to New York but backed out of the deal because they did not believe it helped them. That leaves the Charlotte Bobcats the Bobcats would welcome the addition of David Lee and a Felton/Lee trade would make many Cats fans very excited for the season.

But does David Lee want Charlotte..... I doubt it, and what kind of money is he expecting. I guess this is why I have stayed out of this forum lately.... a lot of speculations about very unlikely scenarios for the bobcats...

But all these scenarios have been discussed by the Bobcats it's not like we/they are making them up off the top of their head. Just some info to keep the fans included I guess. I mean one or maybe none of these rumors may go through but it is fun to be informed. I mean hell if all the rumors went through our starting line-up would look like this

PG- Jason Terry

SG- Stephen Jackson

SF- Gerald Wallace

PF- Tyrus Thomas

C- David Lee

I mean that would be a contending starting line-up but it probably wont happen.

No thanks. Stats be d_mned. David Lee is not the type of player the Bobcats need on the inside.

If everything about his game remained the same, go back 5 years in the NBA and he couldn't SNIFF an All-Star game, that's how far the talent has fallen off in this league.

The Bobcats need a banger. David Lee can't stand up to Dwight Howard any more than any of the current players on the Bobcats could.

The front office needs to make a pitch for Al Jefferson before he's off the market. Only after that falls through should they start looking at players that Howard would knock around like David Lee.

Yeah, your crazy. That is why nobody really talks to you.

The truth is what matters. Couldn't care less what others "DO" or who they "TALK TO." If something ridiculous is said, I'm going to correct it. I'm not looking for a "CONVERSATION." I don't care who the comment was addressed to.

The fact is, David Lee is essentially the same player as Tyrus Thomas. Both are power forwards. Energy guys. The Bobcats need a Center.

They need a banger. David Lee would be abused by Dwight Howard, not Al Jefferson.

I couldn't care less that he was named an All-Star this year, on a team that SUCKS and didn't have anyone else.

He doesn't solve the Bobcats problems inside.

This is what Dwight Howard needs to have to contend with.

Stoudemire agrees to contract with Knicks

The Knicks and Amare Stoudemire have reportedly agreed on a five-year, $100 million contract.

Stoudemire is expected to make an official announcement at MSG within the hour.

With Soudemire a Knick I would say it's a 50/50 shot that David Lee ends up with the Bobcats, unless the Knicks really want to see Monta Ellis in a Knicks uniform again I could see a sign and trade for Lee in the future.

And the Bobcats will still suck on the inside.

Dwight Howard will pick his teeth with David Lee.

Dwight Howard couldn't even take care of Tyson "I am always hurt" Chandler. DeSagana "I have a big @ss contract" Diop, and Theo "I am to old for this" Ratliff. I think David Lee would do just fine........... so shut your fugging mouth.

By the way, Al Jefferson didn't play any better than David Lee against Dwight Howard in the season matchups.

I repeat:

And yet Jefferson had a respectable 18 and 13, which is technically, "holding his own," which is all I've ever said he'd need to be able to do one on one. Anyone with a brain knows that Howard had to "pay attention to" Jefferson. If the Timberwolves had other players worth anything, they would have benefited from that fact. The Bobcats slashing players could.

Look clueless wonder, The Bobcats *ARE NOT* the Timberwolves.

It's not all about Jefferson. I'm discussing the effect of an Al Jefferson and his consistent 18 and 10 on THE BOBCATS, not on a pathetic Timberwolves team with nothing else but him.

You act like all other things between the Bobcats and the Timberwolves are equal where you can make a baseline assessment.

You all really need to see things in the proper perspective and quit focusing on meaningless issues.

If the Bobcats knew that they could get 18 and 13 out of an inside guy against Dwight Howard's 24 and 19, they'd have taken it. They still wouldn't have doubled Howard. They definitely wouldn't have been unreasonably concerned about him.

Besides, the Timberwolves lost that game because Reddick and Anderson, two of the three white guys off of the Magic's bench, burned Wayne Ellington and Kevin Love for a combined 33 points (14 and 19, respectively).

Like I said earlier, "NUMBERS" alone never tell the whole story. 24 and 19 for Howard is less important in a 9 point loss than 33 points from two bench players, alone.

Do you all EVER see the bigger picture? Are you even capable of doing so?

Get some perspective, fast, dude.

The difference between you and me...you focus on "INDIVIDUALS", I focus on "IDEAS."

Jefferson is less important to me than his effect on the Bobcats in the context of WHAT THEY HAVE. A banger of his caliber at the center position, means more to the Bobcats than a flashy point guard...that is if you understand anything about basketball, which you clearly don't.

Trust me I know how to play basketball considering I do at my high school and I understand clearly. You on the other hand have been talking out of your ass the past 2 hours.

    • Fans are fed up with this organization's endless string of failures. And, while Morgan's less than a year into his current position, everything he's done is barreling down the same path shat out by his predecessor. If we're just pointing out this alarming lack of discrepancy between the performances of two GMs, it's really not hating. He's just proving to not be a good hire. And, hey, it's alright, because whoever Tepper hires next will, at best, only suck a little bit less. I don't mind people who are optimistic and hope Morgan turns out to be better than he's been thus far. That'd be great. None of us are rooting for him to fail. However, the embarrassing pattern of decisions persists. And it's not a good look.
    • You have to view everything that was done in 2024 through the ‘eliminate excuses for Bryce Young’ lens IMO. It only makes sense that way.     If you allow for that, you will see that Diontae fulfilled his purpose.
    • The Panthers' beat writer called the Johnson trade return "a warm bottle of RC Cola." If you're quick to discount every bit of news that disagrees with your view, maybe your view is the problem. Morgan deals himself a bad hand and he deserves every bit of criticism for it. Fitterer was the worst GM ever, but Morgan is a very similar brand of awful. Certainly when it comes to trades since 2021, Morgan's body of work makes him at best, only one of the worst negotiators in the history of North American professional sports. That's simply pointing out the numerous shortcomings he's put on display. If I point at a guy who shot someone and say "he murdered a guy," I'm not hating on him -- I'm pointing out what he did. If Morgan wants to not be labeled an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better, simply stop being an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better. Or, wait until Tepper makes him the fall guy after Evero.
