Report: Eagles consider cutting Vick

If they cut him, even if he had nothing to do with the shooting, it would prove they have common sense. Vick has once again proven he isn't smart enough to stay away from trouble.

Goodell screwed the pooch, letting vick back in the nfl.

Common sense isn't so common anymore.

While I do believe Vick has not changed( and no its not cause he is black, its cause he is a dick) and will continue to be in trouble I understand letting him back into the NFL. Everyone deserves a second chance. Even a murderer like Vick.

Everyone does deserve a second chance.

Name me one company, that would take you or I back, after any felony jail term? What company worth a damn would even take the risk of a felon?

If Vick had been out of jail for a year, and had proven himself to stay out of trouble, not put himself in situations that can lead to trouble, and show he can make better judement calls, then I could see them bringing him back on a short leash. He didn't prove anything. They let him back in. Whether or not you agree with them or not, I really don't care.

Once again, he has proven he can't make sound decisions.

He is a victim of his own ignorance.

I would say it would be a hard road to find a job if your a felon. Still you can never be anything more then a felon if no one gives you a chance. Also like I have said I dont think he has changed and he is still the same dick head that gave the finger to his own fans.

Listening to some of the NFL Sirius, I am inclined to believe that Vick was not necessarily executing poor judgement. By all accounts, this was not a typical night club but an upscale black tie-affair event with registered guests. I am also more inclined to think that Michael Vick's larger problem is reconciling how to remove himself not only from his hometown but also with his brother Marcus. The quickest way to sabotage rehabilitation is by revisiting problem situations. I think Vick was trying to keep his community ties while maintaining a safe distance from the trouble. However, when the trouble is family ties, it is nearly impossible to reconcile the two.

Vick's biggest advocate has to be Andy Reid after everything that his sons have done. I truly wish Vick the best in his situation, but he cannot be absolved of all the scrutiny upon him given his past record.

On another note, I really hope that Philly fans and the organization are in for a dismal season. You let a class act and top-shelf talent QB like Donovan walk out the door with little more than a boot to the ass. They deserve whatever they get as far as I am concerned.

was rumored that he crashed the party, and confronted vick, while doing so he smacked some food or a plate of food out of vicks wife hands....just a rumor tho, dont know how true it is.

Actually, Marcus Vick said in a radio interview that he saw Quannis Phillips come in and no one asked him to leave or had a fight with him. Likewise, the owner of the place said the video showed no evidence of any altercation. The original stories coming from Vick and his friends claimed there was an argument, but the evidence now says otherwise.

Catch 22, honestly. If Vick says there was a fight, the police have more reason to expect that he was involved in the shooting. If he says there wasn't one, then there's reason to believe he's violated his release conditions by associating with Phillips, which puts him in hot water with the Feds and the NFL.

Minutes before the shooting that interrupted his 30th birthday party, Eagles QB Michael Vick had to be restrained by friends and placed in a limousine after he had a heated exchange.

The report also mentions that once he was inside the limo, Vick exited the vehicle to confront someone. Although the Eagles' brass had recently backed off reports that the team was planning on releasing Vick in light of the shooting incident, ESPN's Chris Mortensen believes that if any verification of Vick's alleged confrontation surfaces, he could be "in jeopardy" with both the Eagles and the NFL.

hmmm...

The Eagles are reportedly interested in Troy Smith is a fallback option if they're forced to release Michael Vick this summer.

The Eagles still don't seem likely to dump Vick, but they're covering their bases in case further details emerge in the Quanis Phillips shooting investigation. If the Smith report is true, the team appears to have moved on from free agent Jeff Garcia as a possible alternative to Vick.

According to a report from NBC-10 in Philadelphia, Michael Vick will not be allowed to leave the state of Pennsylvania as a result of the shooting outside birthday party.

Nothing is being reported about Vick's standing with the league yet. The last reports on Vick indicated that he is in good standing with the league, so that is what we believe to be the case now. However it is a situation worth monitoring as the league will surely take a look at the most recent barring.

Updating a previous item, despite the numerous denials by Eagles officials on the cutting of Michael Vick, there is talk that the Eagles could cut the troubled QB.

The report mentions that the option to do so is certainly on the table and no one actually knows what the Eagles are really thinking of. This off season the the Eagles reiterated that Donovan McNabb would be the starting QB.
