The Phoenix Coyotes have signed forward Ray Whitney to a two-year/$6 million contract.

Whitney was looking for a three-year deal but obviously could not get one at age 38. He is coming off a 21 goal, 58 point season and could improve even at his age as he will play the point on the power play as well as see minutes as a top-six forward. He should go late in most deeper pools but is worth keeping an eye on as he still knows how to score.
