We got a Vizio 55" LCD from Wally World a while back...

It is a decent TV for the price... Aside from the LEDs out there, I haven't seen many TVs that can beat the colors or clarity of the picture...

The biggest drawback was the sound, but I solved that with surround sound... The regular audio of the TV was just plain bad... I tweaked the settings so that it would be tolerable, but the surround sound is so much better...

The only other negative thing I can say about it is that it doesn't handle some motion things too well... Like, if something on the screen is moving really fast, it has a hard time keeping up (it leaves a little blurry pixelated trail)...

Yeah I have heard the sounds from the tv themselves are not very good. I have a nice sony surround system to hook up to it.

What size are you looking for? If bedroom...are you talking 37-40 or more like 46-50?

I own a Samsung 40" that's been outstanding 60hz LCD. You can probably get my model for around 600-700. LN40a550 is what I got, but you can find some 120Hz for about a hundred more. 1080p/120hz...low response times.

bought a 47LH90 last year and couldn't be happier. It beat the hell out of the comparable Samsung model that I was convinced was the best LED TV on the market at the time.

Id have to give them a look again if I was in the market.

Go with the cheap 42" RCA LCD 1080p. Best price, I have one and I like it better than my Sony.

Yeah, I know that's their policy. And maybe it only applies to smaller items, but I've gone in there with Blu-Ray, video game and other stuff under $100 from Amazon and they've matched it almost every time.

I'll try that next time. Like I said...when I was shopping for one (2 years ago), that's what I found out. Ended up buying on Amazon. Avoided taxes. Free shipping too. They even wanted to unbox it and test it out in my house before they left, but I didn't have DirectV ready for it to be tested. Told them not to worry.
