People on twitter are very upset we didn't trade for Deebo. here's my thing.

Deebo has looked increasingly worse the last two seasons and further his play style does not lend itself to longterm success: risk of injury and relied a lot on pure athelticism > technique. Further I'm wary of all players out of that SF offense.

Second, Deebo would have demanded a new contract if he came here. He went to Washington for one year to boost his stock, try to win a superbowl and hopefully get a contract with someone else next year. He's not playing the Dionte game with us

People that are mad are either stupid or trolling. He is not the same player and his contract just wasnt going to work here for the next 2 years.   I know its been talked about ad nauseam on here but we are super tight against the cap and we need a ton of cheap defensive players so it literally makes no sense to bring deebo in.  I think, assuming bryce progresses, that next offseason is when you can take a bigger chance like that and try to make a move

Agreed. Deebo is a good weapon if healthy but that is far from guaranteed. If we got tied to another massive contract for a non-contributing player, we put ourselves in another deep hole.

But I was told that you would be propping Young up if you give him weapons? He is supposed to elevate the scrub players around him? You guys need to make up your minds.

who the hell knows what the current narrative is around bryce now, my head is still spinning from the last 2 years trying to keep up.  All i do know is they better trot his little ass out there in preseason.  Lets not make the same mistake 2x now.

Didn't you hear? The only reason for trading up to select a QB #1 overall was because the team was ready to win during their rookie contract... not because the team had been in QB purgatory for half a decade. 🙃

to the Commanders for draft pick compensation

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that the 49ers will get back a fifth round pick in the deal. Quarterback Jayden Daniels led the team to the postseason in his rookie year, doing so with an all-new coaching staff to boot. The team now adds a veteran “Queen chess piece” in Samuel, a player that is capable of adding numerous layers to an offense already one of the more dynamic units in the league. The addition of Samuel is likely to generate more one-on-one matchups for Terry McLaurin on the perimeter, boosting the fantasy expectations of both players in the process. Brandon Aiyuk has also been rumored to be a potential trade candidate out of San Francisco this offseason, but he would stand to benefit should he remain in the bay area. As too would veteran tight end George Kittle, the latter of whom has held drastic splits with Samuel on and off the field the previous three seasons.
