    • Or just draft a guy with that pick and get 4 years on a rookie contract. Nothing about this team screams close to contending. Just build with young healthy guys who have a larger windows on rookie contracts. This guy was drafted in the 2nd so I'm guessing they don't let him walk for a 5th like some are assuming. A blocking TE shouldn't be in the first 3 or 4 picks with this team and it's lopsided needs.
    • He definitely pissed a lot of people off with that. I’m still pissed as a Gamecock fan with how it was handled. At the same time… 1) He played the first half in a game that is essentially meaningless when most guys like him don’t play at all.  2) Sitting out bowl games has no correlation to how they act in the pros.  3) I would take his body of work and leadership for every practice and game up until that point over his last half where he made a pretty dumb decision on how to handle the situation.
    • That’s my concern. He is a tweener and they tend to be better situationally. Unless we triple down and go Walker, DT, DT in our first three picks, it’s going to be hard for him to  I’m partial to going Tyler Warren, who is elite in measurable, performance, and ceiling, and then going defense heavy later with a flyer on a slot type receiver.
