Miami Heat to pursue Raymond Felton

Recommended Posts

No particular order. Nash, Deron, Paul, Jameer, Rose, Curry, Parker, Billups, Arenas, Brooks, Rondo, Mo, Baron, Kidd, Harris, Collison, Westbrook, Miller, Bibby, Evan's. There's 20 better pg's right there.

Arenas- No- He didn't even play this year and can't even get on the court with all of his problems

Curry- No- I dont care who the rookie is he needs more than one year to be considered better then any veteran

Collison- No- See note: on Curry

Bibby- No- Bibby's production is severley under Feltons.

Evans- No- See note: on Curry

Mo Williams- Even- Williams and Felton are even based on every aspect of the game.

Check your research, there's five that aren't and 1 that's a toss up

You're severely underrating Felton. Nobody is trying to say that he's an elite PG, but he's very solid all-around and while he'd be in the bottom part of that list, I think that it can be argued that he's among the top half of PGs in the league. A lot of people are looking solely at the Orlando series and damning him for that. He didn't have a good series and got torched by Nelson, but that shouldn't discount how solid, if unspectacular, he was throughout the entire regular season.

And stats tell how well a player has performed There's even some new-age stats, much like in baseball, that start to tell more of the story. Why wouldn't we look at stats if we want to compare players?

Stats do tell but they are not all of it. Stats don't say he had 40 points put up on him while he scored 10. I personally think he is a back up in this league. He would be a great back up. I just don't want to throw starter money at him. Let's be honest last year was his first good year in the regular season and its not like he was killing it.

Oh by the way are bench was better than the Magic's in the playoff's

Bench Points

Bobcats- 116 points

Magic- 86 points

Bench Rebounds

Bobcats- 57 rebounds

Magic- 44

Bench Assists

Bobcats- 20 assists

Magic- 12 assists

Bench Steals

Bobcats- 7 steals

Magic- 5 steals

Bench Blocks

Bobcats- 8 blocks

Magic- 5 blocks

Do you still want to keep questioning me?

We got swept moron and it wasn't because of the starters. Like i said stats aren't everything.

Oh it wasn't because of the starters? Thats why there starters out scored are's by 67 points, but clearly are's were better. I mean Felton is clearly better than Nelson and Theo Ratliff makes Dwight Howard look like garbage, and oh my gosh Boris Diaw could beat Rashard Lewis in his sleep. Yeah are starters are clearly better than theirs.

All i'm saying is their bench was a huge part of why we got beat and you think because you googled some stats and it says our scoring was better we're better. You can honestly say you would take our bench over theirs? Some of their bench players would start for us. Do you watch it or just read about when you google stuff?

I would take Pietrus and thats about it. All-Around our bench players are pretty darn good. By the way not only was our scoring better but so was our blocks, assists, steals, and rebounds, and when you compare benches you look at STATS!!! You need to get over the fact that when you compare individuals and teams in sports you look at stats. Just because you have heart and desire doesn't mean your a good player, you have to be able to put up the numbers to.

Man on paper we are so awesome. How did we not win the Championship? God i hope we give Felton Lebron James money cause he is so amazing. You have to look at situations they are in too. We were getting beat bad and they were just holding the ball and running the clock. Gortak, JJ and pietrus is a better bench then ours. We would at least score some points with JJ. Howard barely even played and we still got swept. You're ok with average I'm not. Felton is not an elite pg.

This current team will never get past the first round of the NBA playoffs with Felton as the starting PG. PG is the most logical position to upgrade on this team.

If Felton would continue to improve like he has done under LB, then he might be a top 15 PG. But he still has a lot of work to do. His on the court decision making is occasionally pathetic.

When you're talking 20 points 10 assists and a couple rebounds a game stats matter. But we're talking 12 5 3. Those are bench pg stats. I would probably take derek Fisher over Felton and i bet his stats are poo compared to Felton.

Bobs should seriously look at Chris Duhon if he will sign for ~4 mil a year. In the 2008-2009 season in which he was a full-time starter, he played with very similar numbers as Felton. I don't think Duhon is as good of a defender as Felton (though that is up to debate after the Nelson torching), but Duhon is a smarter ball player.

I can think of one very serious problem with Duhon though ....

I understand what your saying, but I think it will be hard to replace him this year with the lack of point guards in free agency. Honestly I think it would be wiser to sign Felton one more year. Then next year let him walk. That way his contract will be up along with Tyson Chandler's, Boris Diaw's (Player Option), and Nazr Mohammed's. That we have a better selection to choose from

2011 Free Agent Point Guards

Sebastian Telfair- Cleveland Cavaliers

Mo Williams- Cleveland Cavaliers (Early Termination Option)*

Jose Juan Barea- Dallas Mavericks

Rodney Stuckey- Detroit Pistons (Resticted Free Agent)*

Aaron Brooks- Houston Rockets (Resticted Free Agent)*

T.J. Ford- Indiana Pacers*

Mike Conley- Memphis Grizzlies (Restricted Free Agent)*

Mario Chalmers- Miami Heat (Restricted Free Agent)

Goran Dragic- Phoenix Suns (Restricted Free Agent)

Curtis Jerrells- San Antonio Spurs (Restricted Free Agent)

Tony Parker- San Antonio Spurs*

Marcus Banks- Toronto Raptors

Ronnie Price- Utah Jazz

The guys that I star'd; Aaron Brooks, Tony Parker, Rodney Stuckey, Mo Williams, Mike Conley, and T.J. Ford would all be good options. Also with the money we would be getting from Boris, Tyson, Raymond, and Nazr it they could go after a restricted free agent like Brooks, Stuckey, or Conley.

If the Bobcats actually did this they would have around 32 million dollars from those 4 expiring contracts. If I did my math right.

I agree with this. My whole point from the start was i don't think he deserves Elite PG money. If we can get him for a good price I'm all for it.
