Huddle Time Machine

I was listening to albums on my record player. All my albums came from that Clearinghouse deal where you could get 10 albums for one penny as long as you bought their selected album of the month every month (or turned in your refusal, which everyone forgot to do). I had Greatest Hits albums of every group from the 70s. And the first two Cars albums. Remember those Nikes that Forrest Gump wore, with the red swoosh on a white shoe and light blue trim on the bottom? Those were my school's colors and everyone had a pair.

I bet I stole some of your albums.

I was working International Racing Technologies here in Charlotte. I had just designed the new series of stock car plastic model kits for AMT. I probably just started working on Carousel 1's line of vintage Watson Roadsters.

I was engaged, but trying to get her to move out of my house. I still had my 1972 Corvette Stingray and my 1990 Corvette.

I was 18-years old, about to not graduate high school. I really didn't enjoy school and had skipped so many days that I couldn't graduate. In addition, I was working 40-50 hours a week while in school.

But I would never take it back. I had some great times with my friends during those years; my education would come later, when I was ready.
