Jury Duty this week!

If you ever want off a jury, when they start asking you questions, just say "That guy looks innocent. I don't care what you try to prove, he looks innocent to me".

The plaintiff's attorney (or DA if it's a criminal case), will have you dismissed from serving in a heart-beat.

I heard a judge tell someone that was trying to get out of jury duty..."how would you like to be judged by a jury of people who had nothing better to do?" They were honest and said they wouldn't like it, and the judge said "then have a seat".

totally agree...the people who have time to serve on jury duty scare me.

Yet, if you work on a commission job, and your absence guarantees you lose income, some possibly forever, what would you do?

I was summoned once, but not selected, but I did win the stare down with the accused!!!

I'd like to go through the whole experience once though.

I could pull a Monte Python. Workers Comp case? No problem your honor. Just because I am involved in a Workers Comp case myself, I can be totally impartial! Wink, Wink, Nod, Nod! :P

I served about 9 years ago... burglary case I believe... went to trial, about 3 hours of testimony etc., it was pretty obvious he was guilty... we talked for about an hour and voted and it was unanimous for guilty. The majority of the others on the jury were pretty level-headed... there was one older lady that had to have some stuff explained to her in more detail...

I'd like to go through the whole experience once though.

It was very intersting but tragic. Hearing about a murder is very unpleasant...not to mention the gruesome crime scene and autopsy photos. Still, i would have felt better if my fellow jurors had not ignored our charge. Being the 1 on an 11-1 vote is not easy. I guess it was a good thing I was there...but an awesome responsibility. Very humbling.

One of my roommates in college was a Criminal Justice major. For one of his classes he had to sit in on a trial. Just so happed that the day he choose to sit in on one, the Judge was hearing a divorce case.

He came and his side hurt from laughing so much. He said I needed to go with him the next day. The was way before Divorce Court or any of the Judge shows on TV. It was brutal. They fought about every little thing! She called him "***** Monger" and he called her "Little Miss Frigid". The judge was even laughing, that's how bad it was. The judge finally laid the law down to them, and they started to get things hammered out.

No Jury Duty tomorrow! I called the number and they said I had been excused from Jury Duty!

      Brother.....I don't know how to tell you this but he said with a full off-season he likely would have led the Panthers to the playoffs which in fact is true.   You forgetting Rhule was the HC. He had this team looking like trash. Darnold/Wilks was a winning combo. The most relevant football we played in the Tepper era. This is facts.
