When I had my house, I had Allstate. What a bunch of rude MF'ers! When Hugo hit in 1989 It was like pulling teeth to get them to come out. (Okay, I cave them the benefit of the doubt. There were only 1000's of claims in the Charlotte area.) Then there was a major ice storm in the early 90's and my roof leaked. The claims adjuster said that she didn't have time to come out and look at every little incident and how did she know that it was the ice's fault in the first place? (I told her to kiss my @**!) and I dropped them. Not sure who I had after that, the mortgage company set it up.

So now I need Home Owners Insurance again for my new place. It will be a cold day in Hades before I have anything to do with Allstate every again!

I have First American, don't get them, they suck.

Previously I had Old Republic and it was great, I'll be going back.

I tried to get aon on-line quote with Liberty Mutual, but their site is down. I used to deal with LM when I was with IBM. They were good at doing coming out and doing an inspection for trouble spots to avoid possible claims.
