I dont know who any of these guys are. Can someone who does give an analysis of them and tell us whether or not it was a good pick up? I see alotta D's which is really good I think.

IMO, Skinner is the third best prospect in the draft behind the top 2. He's easily the best scorer in the draft this year.

Nash is a 2/3rd liner at best if he reaches his potential, if not ehhhhhhhhhh....he will continue on his current path, just with a different team.

Really like the Sanguinetti Trade.

With outstanding skating and puck-handling abilities, Sanguinetti is a dynamic force on the blueline with equal skill in moving both north/south and east/west. Sanguinetti has the potential to be a member of an NHL first defensive pairing. However, the big defenseman still needs to work on becoming stronger physically and on the puck, but he has shown real growth in the area of his defensive play.

So far, I see nothing really unexpected. A solid scorer, lots of hard hitters, and a few of those excessive picks traded away. I'm happy.

The trades were typical JR draft trades, however I think he got the good end of the deal for sure. Nash will probably amount to nothing, but if he does he will be a solid 2/3 line center. There's a good chance Sanguinetti comes in and gets one of the defensive spots right out the gate and Matsumoto is a good forward prospect who could see some time this coming season more then likely next season.

i'm pretty excited for dalton smith who we (blue jackets) picked up in the 2nd. he told scouts his goal was 20+ goals and 20+ fights

If a guy can fill a role on a team by being a 3rd line plugger, PK specialist, or whatnot fighting is ok. But seriously just being a goon is pretty worthless in today's NHL (see Carcillo). Look at the Red Wings. I don't think anyone on their team knows how to punch.

I wouldn't say its worthless for the SPORT. Per team, yeah, nobody wants a Carcillo. But think about it, the casual fan or the people who just aren't into hockey because they view it as "soccer on ice" (yes, I have actually heard a poor fool say this), then fighting is a way to hook those people to the sport. So, for the sport, it needs goons. That being said, if we ever get a complete thug on this team, I'm finding JR, and I'm giving him the world's biggest titty twister. EVER!
